Chad Johnson Owners/Denver Fans/Cincy Fans (1 Viewer)

Ok, not intended as a WDIS but interested to hear from Johnson owners and how they think Bailey affects his numbers and specifically how much Bailey and Johnson actually face off.

Here's the information I am considering:

- Obviously Ocho Cinco really respects Bailey

- I am hearing that Bailey usually stays on the left and does NOT follow a receiver around the field

- Denver's other CBs have given up some very big games

- This game is a must win for Cincy

Given all that it would seem to me that Johnson's individual fantasy performance will be primarily determined based on how much of the time he is lined up against Bailey. In most cases when a #1 WR is facing a shut down corner the team moves the receiver into the slot, to the other side, whatever is necessary to get a matchup on another player. In the case of Cincy both Housh and Henry are more than capable of having a huge game, so moving CJ around is not necessary for any reason other than to keep him happy.

I feel like CJ versus Bailey = 30-70 yards and 0 TDs but, CJ versus D. Williams or someone else would be over 100 yards and 1 or more TDs.

My personal situation is that my current backup WR is A. Boldin who has a very good matchup. I feel like Johnson has the much higher ceiling, but Boldin is safer.

Ultimately I think determining how much Johnson goes head to head against Bailey will determine what I do, so I was hoping to get one or both of the following questions answered:

1) What percentage of the time will Bailey and Johnson be head to head?

and/or

2) Does Cincy move Johnson around and work to get him more favorable matchups?

Any thoughts appreciated.

I dont have much to change even if i wanted to change CJ but I am half expecting 60-70 yds from CJ. I think they will move CJ around a little bit just to get some desired matchups. No fact of this just strictly opinion. Im not real high on my expectations of CJ. Boldin would be a safer play IMHO.

Bailey doesn't move around so Chad will be all over the field today, mostly unchecked. He's in for a monster game. 10 for 157 & 2 TD's.

sorry the bengals and the broncos don't play every week or else that would've been a SWEET comeback AI.

I wasn't trying to sond smart, but I don't think a long TD is a good example of what to expect. Lots of catches with good yardage would be a better example.

And I only got out twice this past year. :ptts:

7/149 with a 5o yard td sounds pretty good to me regardless of what standards we're using :pickle:

It's statisitcally impossible for him to do worse than that. The Bengals will isolate CJ on DWilliams all day long.

FBG has him as the #13 WR this week, they must not be thinking he'll be on Williams all day long or he'd be much higher.
CJ is #2 in the H.K. rankings this week, if that helps.FYI - Wayne is # 1. Colts play a horrible D without Addai, Harrison can't catch because of his hand, and even Proehl is hurt already. The only way Indy can move the ball is by throwing to Wayne...he may even threaten the NFL record for receiving yards today.

Is this really true about Bailey? He stays on one side no matter what?
Yes. He stays on the left side, which is the side a right-handed QB looks to first. By shutting down that side of the field the Broncos force the QB to have to constantly throw across his body. Many teams always line their WRs up on the same side. The Bengals don't (I watched for this last week). They move guys around, so CJ will have Bailey some plays and not others.

I just read the thread where FoxSports said he was out....now it appears not. Either way, he's too hurt to be effective anyway. Again, Wayne is 1, Chad is 2. Guaranteed. Statistically impossible for anything else to occur this week.

The only thing that is a statistically impossibility right now is your shtick not getting older with every post.
