Chad Johnson speaks (1 Viewer)

Bengals receiver Chad Johnson, on a conference call with New England reporters, asked the media to pass on the following messages to Patriots defenders:

"You tell 37 [Rodney Harrison], I'm going to knock his helmet off. Tell Asante [samuel] that he should continue to have help for all four quarters, or his 22 will be 55, which is 22 upside down. Tell Junior [seau], when I'm done with him ... never mind, I'm not going to pick on Junior. Tell Eugene Wilson, if he hits me across the middle, we'll probably have to fight and get thrown out of the game right there on the spot. My last hit I was going to take this year was in Cleveland. If anyone hits me like that again, they're going down."

Asked if the Patriots had a trash talker like Pittsburgh's Joey Porter, Johnson said: "No. Yeah. What am I talking about? Rodney. He's the original, old-school trash talker. He hits you and still talks trash. Punch you on the bottom of the pile, and talk trash. He's the original."

Johnson, who was clearly having fun, did say that he and Harrison speak before games.

"He's one of those guys I sit down and talk to every pre-game, for 20 to 25 minutes, on keeping my head clean and staying focused. More of a father-son talk every time I talk to Rodney. We did it two years ago when we played in the preseason. He gave me some great advice about staying on a straight line and staying focused, and staying out of trouble, and if I'm in the headlines make sure it was something positive."

i love him too but he needs to score a little more and talk a little less

nobody can stop 85 huh? Nice 1 catch for 11 yard performance last week Chad

Sometimes I think Chad Johnson talks so much pre-game so that TJ Housh and/or Chris Henry are left in single coverage.

Did anybody in the media ask him why he was shown on the sidelines looking like someone killed his dog while the Bengals rolled over Pitt?

CJ is not TO, guys. he's just having fun. i don't know how it's possible to not find this guy funny, and appreciate his love for the game. i find it refreshing, not annoying.

probably cause when they showed him Bengals were losing which they were doing until about 8 minutes left in the game (and they didn't roll over Pitt, Pitt wrapped the game up in a bow and handed it to them)

CJ would never be that unselfish. His act is getting old.
His chirping hasn't really hurt the Bengals has it?- I can't remember if the Browns beat the Bengals after the Pepto-Bismol incident.
Yes, The Browns won and he had a very bad day. The funny thing was on "Six Days til Sunday" on NFL network they did on that game. after the game, Chad went up to Robert Griffith and said "You know I was just kidding right?" to which Griffith said, "No, dude, I take that stuff serious." I'm sure he isn't the only one not to find the humor in his weekly talking. If he would have had a great day last week, then fine, talk, but you were a non factor and still complained when you were winning, shut up already.

I like CJ a lot, I don't mind his talking one bit, I just hate how the attention he gets because of his mouth has somehow led people to claim this guy is the best WR in the NFL. Ridiculous.

oh, come on Murf. I'm a lifelong Steeler fan, and personally I love the guy! On the field, love the Stillers, hate the Bengals (and all others). But off the field, CJ is my 2nd favorite player in the league. (2nd to Joey Porter)CJ on offense = JoeyP on defense.same characters, both know how to play & play with FUN

:lmao: :lmao: I love the internet!

 The guy is a tool, great WR, but still a tool......
Sour grapes from the beat down Cincy issued to your precious Steelers?I bet you'd be singing a different tune if Chad were wearing a Steeler jersey. As they say, don't hate the player...
No sour grapes here, would be saying the same thing if we won. "My last hit I was going to take this year was in Cleveland. If anyone hits me like that again, they're going down"Lines like these are just simple.....if he gets hit like that again my grandma would take him out, yet he going to take someone down? There is smack and there are tools....he is a tool.

I can practically see the tears all over in the keyboard in this post. The pissiness and bitterness of some of the Steeler fans in this thread is hillarious. Chad's very good natured about it and is just blowing hot air. Obviously he's not as much of a prolific yapper as Chad, but I find Hines Ward's shtik pretty funny as well. Its a game, lighten up Francis.

I love seeing the bitterness of the Steeler fans. :lmao:

Rough start to the year..get over it...We all knew Big Ben was going to come back to earth one of these days....he is still rusty from the offseason and surgery that has hindered him.

But CJ is just having fun, there is never any malicious intent in what he says, he enjoys playing the game and makes it exciting for the fans.

But it does make me wonder, just how much the Bengals would have won by last year had Carson not gotten injured! :banned:

Well, he was shown on the sidelines looking bummed after the 2nd Henry TD and again after the first TJ TD in the 3rd Q. Would think going up on the Steelers late in the game would make the guy happy. I think the guy gets a pass for being a selfish player. I could understand being upset if you aren't getting the ball and losing, but that wasn't the case.

:lmao: He was probably the same way after the Jag game.:jagfan:

Too bad he sounds more like Freddie Mitchell these days than the old #85.

Countdown to when maxipad head gets ktfo by #37....

I love it, keep sipping from your Haterade bottles fella.Steelers are the Superbowl Champs until further notice. :blackdot:
Hmmm... You wouldn't know they were the defending champs by you and your fellow Steelers' fans defensivness, insecurity, and incessent whining.

LOL at Steeler fans.

Their team sells out to stop one particular reciever.

Because of this strategy they get beat by the rest of the offense they ignored.

They proceed to yap about how he only had one catch and cry about what he says.

You lost! Don't you realize giving up a few more catches to one guy is not as important as winning the smack talk war?

Wrong. The Bengals won that game. Didn't lose to Cleveland last year

Bengals fan here. It was 2004. We lost. :bag:

Hmm I could have sworn it was last year. Oh well, it really doesn't matter.

I honestly can't understand why people hate on CJ. He's hilarious. I admire people who can be themselves without worrying what others think of them (that is if they are good-natured/funny/etc.)

Not sure where you get insecurity and incessent whining. I think you have us confused with your boyfriends :boxing:
"OH NO HE DID' INT!!!" :lmao: "...Pitt wrapped the game up in a bow and handed it to them..." Most of this thread doesn't matter.I'd really like to see CJ get some production to go along with the talk. I definately find him amusing, good-natured and having fun with his occupation. I can see his calling out one of the dirtiest players in the league really backfiring on him this week though.

Exactly what I was thinking ... great talk for a decoy!
 There aren't too many #2 corners that can cover Henry one one one. Teams are going to have to double/triple CJ using the #2 corner and put the #1 one-on-one with Henry. Then you still have Housh to worry about. I can't see any other way to cover these guys. A great d-line/blitz scheme like Pitts will help while Levi is gimpy and Braham is out, but if the o-line is healthy, they can't be stopped.
