The fact of the matter is that Cincy has several red-zone options including the TE's, tall WR's in Housh and Henry, and the FB and or Perry if healthy. CJ is no longer a top red-zone threat. He'll get his #'s, probably comperable to the last couple of seasons, but IMHO, he has peaked as a fantasy WR. He probably doesn't have the upside of the other WR's in the top tier.

My explanation is simpler. If he's no longer going to be allowed any worthwhile end zone celebrating, he's not going to bother scoring. Ain't no good anymore in the No Fun League.agent 86 said:The fact of the matter is that Cincy has several red-zone options including the TE's, tall WR's in Housh and Henry, and the FB and or Perry if healthy. Plenty of us.I wonder how many people here realize that Chad and Housh were the starting WRs at the same time at Oregon State.
Damn I'd like to pull something like this off, but I already own Lundy.Maybe Musa Smith is available?Scroll up, CJ isn't a red zone target anymore so I made the shark move. You gave up CJ for Lundy and this is a move you are toasting yourself for?I just traded CJ for Lundy in my PPR league.![]()

Chad Johnson also played with Steve Smiff in Junior College.Anyway, what I really thinks is getting lost in the shuffle here is that Johnson was lining up against Al Harris. Al Harris is probably the most drastically underrated CB in the entire NFL right now. If I had to pick one CB to play for my team, it'd be Champ Bailey. If I had to pick a second, it'd be Al Harris. He's probably the best man in coverage in the entire NFL. He might just be the last true "shutdown" corner around. I think he's even better in coverage than Bailey, although Bailey is much better in run support and has a much bigger penchant for the big play.I didn't see the game tonight, but I strongly suspect that Palmer just found it easier to go to whoever WASN'T covered by Harris.I wonder how many people here realize that Chad and Housh were the starting WRs at the same time at Oregon State.

That is like saying that Alexander is no longer a TD threat. Look it up buddy: 6 catches and -0- TD's in the red zone last year. Anyone who's owned CJ the last couple of seasons can tell you that he's been used mostly as a decoy in the red zone lately. As long as Cincy continues to have success, I can't see any reason why that should change. That is like saying that Alexander is no longer a TD threat. awful trade man, just awful.I like Lundy and he may prove to be a sneaky RB 2 this year but to trade a top 3 WR. Sorry that was a guppie move. CJ commands much more value than that. :X
Wonder if that's because Green Bay's defensive game plan was to roll all their coverage on CJ and shut him down? When TJ burned them repeatedly, I expected McCarthy to start making defensive adjustments, but they never came. You won't see that come the regular season. You guys can joke all you want, but I'd be slightly concerned after last night.TJ was getting a lot of looks.

Not until I'm done spooning him.You guys can joke all you want, but I'd be slightly concerned after last night.TJ was getting a lot of looks.fork him now.
Not at all what I'm saying. I'm saying drafting him as the #1 WR or maybe even #2 might be a setup for a letdown. TJ looks like he could be an even bigger part of the offense this year. Why is that so funny?Obviously TJ has the talent, so if defenses are going to roll their coverage to Johnson's side, why wouldn't Palmer look TJ's way more often? Seems like it makes sense to me.I think I'd rather have Smith or Holt personally. I'm certainly not saying he should drop out of the top 5.It's all about value right now.You guys can joke all you want, but I'd be slightly concerned after last night.TJ was getting a lot of looks.![]()

I agree with your assessment. Johnson still has elite talent, no question, and he'll still likely be a top receiver. But, he brings so much attention to himself that defensive coordinators and defensive backs are going to focus on him all year. TJ Housh has improved his game and is a legitimate number 2 receiver, so he's likely to benefit from all this attention being paid to Johnson. And Palmer certainly has the skills to utilize multiple receivers. I'm thinking I may pass on Johnson and pick up Housh later as he represents a lot more value at their respective ADPs. TJ was already getting more red zone looks last year, if you look at the Red Zone stats. Whether they use Johnson as a decoy, or he just doesn't get as open in the red zone with the number 1 DB on him, TJ seems like he may be the first option in the red zone. I had Johnson last year, and I was happy with his results, but I kept seeing TJ put up good numbers for one on my league mates and I couldn't help but remember that he came at a much cheaper price. Not at all what I'm saying.
