Chad Pennington to start this week (1 Viewer)

Good news. I need someone to cover Romo's bye week and Pennington should be a good start against a weak pass defense this week.

Shouldn't be too surprising considering how he rebounded last week (despite the bad INT at the end).

I would view a home game against the Bills as his inflection point, however, in terms of whether he keeps the job. If Chad falls flat this week, I think Clemens almost certainly gets the nod thereafter.

This is terrible news for Jets fans and owners of Jets offensive players (except Coles). Pennington is holding back the offensive potential of this team. I have it on good authority that Brian Schottenheimer prefers Clemens as well.

Was looking forward to seeing Clemens start. IMO, Pennington has not earned to keep the spot. Team is 1-6 and most of that falls on Pennington and the Defense.

I wonder how short the leash will be this week?

As a Cotchery owner forced to start him this week due to bye week issues, may I just say, "####"!

Cotchery has done quite well with Chad in there, at least from a reception/yardage standpoint. There's no assurance that Clemens will raise Cotch's value - for all we know, there will be some growing pains for the kid accompanied by a bunch of three-and-outs.

I didn't realize Marty is spending his retirement on the board here.
A good friend of mine is Brian's next door neighbor. I've met him (Brian) at summer BBQ's -- very good guy and tireless worker. Mangini's treatment of his coaches makes Amistad look like the Love Boat.
Nice. Good inside information.
Any chance your posting this here could come back to haunt B.S. if Mangini really is that bad?

I seriously doubt Mangini gives a flying falafel what I, or anyone else, think about him. Mangini is a superhuman worker himself, and expects his coaches to keep pace.

In the one start Kellen Clemens had this season Jerricho Cotchery had 7 receptions for 165 yards. I'd say there is at least room for cautious optimism.

Except for week two when Cotchery went 7-165 with Clemens at the helm.

True - he did got a lot of looks/receptions when they were playing from behind against Baltimore, but we'd probably have to see a larger sample size.As someone else noted, definitely cautious optimism, but don't bank on an overall uptick in production with a move to KC.
