Charles Tyrwhitt: $25 or $50 off thru Living Social 5/14/15 (1 Viewer)

Four more shirts here. Finally making the move to french cuffs for the dress shirts.
Best in moderation at work, IMO.
Only with a suit. I just seem to be having a lot more suit days lately. We are an insurance company and write all our business (about $1 billion worth) through independent insurance agents. My mentor is a big believer in always dressing up when we meet with agents and I've been doing a lot of it lately. That and Chamber of Commerce stuff where French cuffs are pretty common.
Look at this ####### guy.

Thanks again for the tip on this. I had a nice credit from a return I did previously, picked up 5 shirts and a couple of ties.
The FBGs are loading up. Feel like you guys can maybe Paypal me a couple of slim fits or something?

My latest batch should be arriving soon.

Anybody have a line on decent, cheap cuff links? These shirts aren't doing me a heck of a lot of good otherwise.
Hit ebay. I just bought 4 pairs from China for less than $20.
I'm a cufflink guy. It's sort of my thing. I've probably got 30-40 pair at this point, ranging in price from $5 to $1,000. I try and pick a pair up when I travel...sort of like wearable souviners. I went to China a few years back, and the fake Tiffany cufflinks from there are actually really good. If you compare them side-by-side to the real thing, you'll notice the difference, but stand-alone, they're pretty sweet.

Woot.com actually has some decent ones on sale from time to time too...

Or you could do what I just did--ask family. I talked to my Mom this morning and she said she had about a dozen pairs of my grandfather's she'll send to me. Vintage, #####es!

Received my latest order from the $29 special thing. Not really a major complaint, just kind of surprised at their customer service decision making in this instance. One of the shirts they sent me was incorrect, color/style not what I ordered. I reached out to them and they're sending me the correct one, but they requested that I mail them the wrong shirt back.

I figured they would just tell me to keep it. Seems financially impractical for them to pay to mail a $29 shirt back internationally. Maybe I'm just spoiled by Amazon.

ETA: I don't really give a #### about getting a free shirt. Not expecting a handout or anything. I'm just lazy and would prefer not to have to deal with filling out the return label, repacking it, making a trip to the post office, etc.

As long as they pay the shipping as it was their mistake, I'd be OK with that.

I normally buy the slim shirt but there still a little too much material in the midsection so I tried the extra slim. Can't tell much of a difference in the extra material in the midsection but the shoulders are too tight.

I am by no means an athletic specimen but anyone have suggestions for brands / styles that are a bit more tapered from shoulders to waist?

Returns go to a location in the US and then they bundle to send overseas so its not like they're paying to send each and every shirt back.

Yeah, it's definitely nothing major. And their customer service response was very quick. I'm just surprised from a business perspective. Seems like the cost they would incur from reshipping it overseas would eat up any profit from reselling the $29 shirt.

Ah, gotcha. That makes a lot more sense. I haven't looked at the return stuff yet, just assumed it would be sent directly back.

I doubt they're even sending them back to the UK; could just use it to fill whatever standing orders they have for stock in stores.

Not to mention, it's not a $29 shirt. It's a $59 shirt if sold individually in a store.

Mine are also running late.Customer service was very friendly but promised them by Wednesday. I'm being understanding considering that they probably got a huge rush of orders with the recent sale.

Love my shirts, but I have noticed more thread pulls (dangling threads) on some of the ones I bought recently which is disappointing.

How good do the deals get for these shirts? They have 4 for $200 now.
$50 isn't bad but they get down to $29 on occasion. At $50 they're good value... at $29 they're a no brainer. Still my favorite shirts. Own about 12-14 I think.

If that link doesn't work just type in "Charles Tyrwhitt 29.99" into the Google address bar and the first result is $29.99 sale shirts, there are tons of them including non-iron, but I think I bought the ones I need to iron. Drats.

No Iron is definitely the way to go. I have 2 that are not, and rarely wear them because of the added hassle. Plus they don't look nearly as good by the end of the day.

  I'm sure we've been down this road, but if I wear a 16.5 34/35 in Brooks Brothers, what do I order from here?
Their slim is really not that slim, but Brooks Brothers has generous sizing as is.  If you would like your BB shirts a bit slimmer order slim, if not, order standard.

I'd go 16.5 35....probably slim fit, if you're skinny extra slim, fat classic.

So I have about 10 CT shirts...  I'm looking to get more.  Most of mine are 'Classic' fit.  I'm normally about 5'11" 225, with a beer gut.  I'm dieting now and I'm down close to 200, looking to stay around 190-195. :humblebrag:

Should I dare go 'Slim fit'?  My existing shirts seem to have a bit extra fabric around the midsection now, but I haven't ordered anything 'slim' in years.

I have a similar story and moved to slim after shedding the gut. They look significantly better than the Classic Fit and I think my collar size only went down about 1 inch.

Just ordered six.  These shirts are great.  Thanks for the heads up.

@Plorfu I went with the slim and a half inch down in neck size.  I don't wear ties often, so not worried about the neck so much.
