This year, the HD channels are right after the local game. If a game is on let's say channel 710, the HD is on 710-1, not 723 or so. Make sure to add them if you have customized your favorite channel settings. It looks like every game this week is on HD, not the case last year where you had 3-4 games only in SD.

go Menu- set-up - favorite channels - edit settings - fix your custom 1 or 2/ or look at Ch's I get to see if you have it.

I've never had that problem. However, I've had problems with the menu guide not working on Sundays during the NFL season. It gets flaky. At first, it was just super slow to display on the screen. Then, it would stop working completely. Nothing short of a full reboot on the receiver would fix it. We all know that takes 15-20 minutes at a minimum to run through and get back to watching football. That stunk.
I usually setup a favorite to show only the channels with NFL games. I tweak it before 1 pm so I can easily surf only football games. Then, I tweak it again for the 4 pm games. The downside is that I've often had to travel on Monday mornings and I forget to set it back for my wife and I get THAT CALL every Monday that "the DirecTV isn't working".

I am SO sick of this crap. I am being told, "you ordered pay per view, but haven't paid, so that's why its giving you this message. You need to just plug in your phone line..."

Hopefully it will work such that if you select the guide option to "hide all SD equivalents" that we'll only see the -1s.. or HD channels. There always seems to be some bugs getting worked out with the NFL Sunday Ticket the first week or three every season.
The Superfan package with streaming games via the web was very sporadic and buggy last year during the first few weeks.

I am being told because of this msg on my receiver, that has to do with pay per view, that I can't get ST without plugging it into a phone line. My house doesn't have a phone line. There is no way I can get one installed today. And I asked them to bring me a new receiver then, to fix THEIR f'up. They said they can't do it. Looks like I'm done with DT.
So does that mean if you're on 710 and if you scroll up and you go to 711 without seeing a 710-1 you don't have the Super Package.I thought I ordered it.....do you only see the 710-1 if you ordered it?

Don't know yet, but that's how it works for channels that have dupes, like the locals, ESPN, etc. You can set the option either way via the menu. So, assuming it works, and you have HD programming and the Ticket/SuperFan (HD games on the Sunday Ticket) then that is how I am hoping it will work.
Mine too, and all the "-1" channels for HD games are available. I'm slightly worried now, as I don't have a landline. I should be good to go, correct? Why would one need a landline for the ST and SF?

thank youYou guys have an idea how to go directly to one of the HD channels with the "-1" on it. I hate using the guide with ST because it craps out occasionally during the games and I have to reboot. I've tried just typicing 7101 to go to 710-1 with my remote, but that doesn't work. Do we really have to click Guide and then go select the game we want or channel up/down instead of typing in the channel #?? What a pain in the.....

You should have a "-" button in the lower left of your remote keypad. So type "710-1"
Amen! The SD equivalents are all gone, with the exception of some of the higher channels including those in the 600's (Versus) and 700's (ST). Two options.1 - use the Game Day/Mix channel that is part of the Sunday Ticket. Disclaimer though, I've had similar problems with that not working in the past. A) the sound goes out and b) when you click on one of the games it takes you to that game, but then the wheels come off and the same problems apply with the grid not working.2 - do as I do.. look up all the Sunday ticket HD channels ahead of time. Pre-program one of your favorites, name it NFL or something, then just enable that favorite on your menu. It means you don't necessarily need the grid, just hit channel up/down. The downside is you still have the same affliction - can't bring up the grid to go directly to the game you want unless you do as I do .. keep the NFL Game Centers on a computer and they display the game channels so you can direct input and go to that channel.I hope direcTV get this stuff figured out this year or I'll be calling and looking for money back if it's not working as advertised.
Oh yeah! I've never used the 'Dash' button before, so I had no idea. Thanks buddy, that just made today so much easier for me! Wish the HD channels were in the 720's like last year, that's much easier in my opinion....

Good stuff. I may try doing a favorites list, but that still seems to have a few issues. Oh well. I'm going to use the Dash button, seems easy enough. I just can't believe they switched from last year out of the high 710's and the 720's for HD. And I don't understand why it's not like every other channel where the SD channels can be hidden if there's and HD one. If there's a game only in SD, shouldn't they just have one of the 700 channels in SD, so it doesn't get hidden?? Seems much easier to me.Praying for no problems today!

thanks for the post, made me look into mine since I ordered it months ago when I moved and got DTV. And of course its not working so I am on the phone with them now. Ugh

I have 3 TV's downstairs. Turned on today and 2 of them were fine, but the other showed "channel unavailable". While I was on the phone with them (on hold of course), I rebooted that one receiver and it worked. I make sure to check everything a few hours in advance on the first Sunday of football season.

FWIW, it doesn't look like the "hide SD duplicate" setting is working with the NFL Sunday Ticket channels. I had to program my "NFL" Favorites via the menu to only show the channels with games on them, along with the game mix HD channel. I have never found the player tracker and NFL snap channels to be worthwhile as I'd rather have my laptop going, checking stats off the NFL gamecenters and watching the games only on TV.

the person on the phone told me I am signed up and should receive everything at 1 pm but there is a segment of their customers that are not receiving the correct messages right now. When I go to 107 it asks me to sign up for ST. She assured me that I would be all set at 1 pm. Still didn't make me feel to good to not have it working properly now.

Agreed, I have never had a phone line either, and I have premium service including the HD NFL package. Mine is working fine BTW...

My 'dash 1' HD channels don't show up either. I was told by DirecTV that I can't get the HD football channels because my dish needs to be upgraded; from the 3LNB to the 5LNB.

I'm guessing you subscribe to DTV during the offseason as well?I normally have the $50 Total Choice package all year, I upgraded a few days ago to Premiere package (which includes ST) for $75/month (or I'm paying $25/month for 4 months/total of $100). I just have to downgrade back to Total Choice in January.
