Chester Taylor / Bryant Mckinnie to Bucs? (1 Viewer)

Apparently there are legs to this. The Bucs really want McKinnie, they don't seem as focused on Taylor or Moore. They feel like they're a legit contender in the NFC and really can't go through the season with Donald Penn as their starting left tackle.

:lmao:

How could a team trade their starting LT mid-season, with no viable backup?

Impossible I say

maybe because Mckinnie has been a turnstile all season/last season and they are regretting singing him, really he hasn't been very good most of his career or at least not lived up to any of the hype he had in collage. It would not shock or sadden me depending what the vikes got.

Taylor for a #3 pick seems right, we keep Mckinnie (I hope), and pass on TB QB's
3rd rounder sounds high to me, I would think 4th or 5th. But then again TB seems desparate to upgrade.
 McGahee traded for a couple thirds...Thomas Jones for a swap of second roundersChester is worth about a 5th at best. The guy just cant carry the load as a feature back all season and Im not sold that peterson could either...

This trade does not make sense at all...

Why not go after Micheal Turner instead?
You mean he could never carry the load as in carry the ball 300+ times for 1200+ yards and catch 40+ balls? Yea you're right he could never do that.

Bucs inquire about Moore

After losing starting running back Carnell "Cadillac" Williams to a season-ending knee injury, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers inquired about Vikings third-string running back Mewelde Moore, according to a source close to the situation.

But the source said the Bucs refused the Vikings' request for a first-day draft pick (first, second or third round) in return. Not only has Moore been inactive for two games, he also is set to become a free-agent after this season.

I don't see why the Vikes would give up either of these players for less than two first round picks. McKinnie was a top ten pick himself and is not a bust. If you don't get a first rounder for him that is a step backwards. Taylor? He was a top Rb last year and is still capable. No, they don't "need" him but in case you didn't notice RBs get hurt a lot; and, AD is injury prone. So, why trade your other reliable RB?

i have heard rumors about Moore, and that makes more sense. personally I think moore could be a very effective back, especially with someone else to do the dirty work on third and short and at the goal line to keep him healthy. Moore for a third round pick makes sense.

first day pick for Moore? That's laughable at best.
:pickle: Not at all if the team that gets him signs him toat least a short extension. Hes not gonna cost an arm and a leg and would be an awesome addition to any team needing a RB to keep hope alive. As a Vikings fan I already miss seeing him come in and provide a spark. There is however no room at the Vikings inn for him right now as we have ADP and MM is ADP light.

FYP.

Do people think M&M would take over the feature role in Tampa if he was traded there or are we talking about more RBBC?

Feel the need to jump in on this

a> the Bucs don't need Chester Taylor with Mike Pittman and Ernie Graham (sorry for the abbreviation of first names)

b> the Vikings don't need Chester Taylor, so they certainly wouldn't overvalue him, see ATP as #4 RB in FF, Mewelde being Mewelde.. a more than capable backup.

CT has value, but neither needs him.

So if there is a deal, a shame if the "bluff card" is wasted on CT.

$.02

noticed how he slowed down around the last quarter of the season and was basically worthless at that point? I like Chester...he just isnt a feature back. Obviously the Vikings thought that as well.

a. why abbreviate the first names and then waste time/space apologizing for the abbreviations? Isn't that counterproductive? b. I'm not really high on Chester, but IMO he is definitely an upgrade over Pittman and Graham as a runner and receiver.

Chester Taylor is much like Reuben Droughns. They're good enough to get you 1,200 yards if they get 300+ carries. While that's SERVICABLE, neither of them are explosive or Game Cahnging in any way. The opposing Defense doesn't come in to town afraid of them.

Just for the record, neither the Tampa Bay Buccaneers nor the Vikings play fantasy football - which is why both teams would want Taylor. Minny, because they're not carrying 4 starting RBs like in FF. If AP goes down they have no viable starter. The Bucs because they are 3-1 and see an opportunity in a relatively weak NFC to make a run at the playoffs. CT has value because both teams need him. MM is the "settle for" for both, imho.

slowed down or was injured?
