I don't understand why the majority opinion seems to be that Taylor is the choice in PPR leagues. Why does everyone assume Taylor will excel in the passing game? I think Mewelde is going to be heavily involved and will vulture a lot of targets. Mewelde did have 37 catches last year, so he definitely has skill and value to the Vikes in that area.

While Willie didn't catch many balls last year, I can't help but think they will try to involve him more in the passing game in his 2nd year full year. He only had 18 catches in 15 games, but in the postseason, he had three 3-catch games (10 catches in 4 games), including a 19-yard TD catch. If last year's playoffs are any indicator, I don't see any reason why Willie's reception total won't double this year. If that's the case -- and considering we really have no idea how much Taylor will be involved in the Vikings' passing game or even where he will fit in -- I think Willie is the clear choice. If Willie's reception total did double, that's a lot more opportunities to break off a few long ones as well.

As stated by the HC "Clearly he (Barlow) is our best RB". Barlow is the starter, and he's better than Taylor.
Was that quote from April? ;)
This week.Taylor is in the round-peg square-hole problem. He is generally  for his receiving skills, but Childress just wants him to run the ball up the middle, which he is not very good at.

FWP is only a 2-down back, but I'll take a home-run 2DB who doesn't get goal-line carries over a guy who is going to be on the bench and/or rotation with Fason/Moore.

I honestly don't want either of them near my rosters, but if I had to pick, it's the guy who's going to start and keep starting all year, who has a 1000 yard season under his belt on a team that has a good supporting cast and a dedication to running the football.
Riiiiight. Gore is A LOT more competition to Barlow than Moore is to Taylor. And like said, I think Childress and the Vikes are A LOT more committed to Taylor than Nolan and the Niners are to Barlow.

I disagree on the first, but agree on the second.I don't feel like digging up any more stats on the matter, and don't even need to, since I've about got them memorized by now.But in 9 games where Moore has had 15+ touches, 8 of them have been for 100+ yards.I believe Taylor's line is 4 for 15 in 15+ touch games.Your claims would be warranted if Moore was a nobody like CT, but he's been the starter before, and looked great.Moore is a better receiver and more explosive runner. He's more fragile, but that won't stop him from starting at least a handful of games over CT this year.I see a likely split between Barlow/Gore. It makes the most sense... Gore has injury concerns, Barlow ran much better splitting carries with Hearst. I don't see why Nolan would put one of them on the bench when they are (sad as it is to say) two of the most talented players on that offense.

Yet even though they had this gem on their hands they chose to sign Taylor and annoint him the starter. That's ancient history, new staff, new offense, new rb, new line, etc. Moore is running with the 3rd team by the way...

I just don't see FWPs receptions doubling this year. The Steelers aren't going to turn into a passing team and there are only so many receptions to go around. Hines will get his, and the WR corps, while young, may be the most talented top to bottom that the Steelers have had in a while. Add in some more looks for Heath Miller, and I just don't see FWP getting a lot of receptions. Especially since the coaches like Verron Haynes and he will most likely be the 3rd down back.
