chester taylor ? (1 Viewer)

Halfway point:

Sig Bet: CT = RB10

Yudkin:

CT/Gates: 135.7 + 98.6 = 234.3

Foster/Heap: 97.5 + 100.6 = 198.1

Taylor's health is the only thing between him and winning both bets, however, he's built up a cushion, so he can afford to miss a few weeks and still be fine.
How many points is Chester ahead of RB20? I'm curious how much of a cushion he has. Using your 135.7 figure above, he's averaging 17 ppg, so to say that he can miss a few weeks implies he is 50 points ahead of RB20, which I find hard to believe.

He could miss two weeks and still be Top 20

If anyone else on the Viking offense ever does anything then CTaylor will have a monster second half. It amazes me that he is currently their entire offense and that he sees 8 man fronts every time on first and second down and he is still putting up good numbers. If the QB and receivers can ever give the other team a reason to actually respect play action and move that saftey out of the box I think his ypc avg will go way up. As it stands if CTaylor does not move the chains then the chains don't move.

Too bad Taylor had a 65 yd TD on a screen pass called back or the Vikes might have won that game.

Yeah and the NFL came back and said the refs blew the call and the play should have stood.Just waiting for H.K.'s update :unsure: A word about the fumbles. Not to be a BIGGER CTaylor apologist than I already am but...he definitely has to take the responsibility for those costly turnovers but Gawd is the O line play from the Vikes atrocious at times. On the first fumble not only does Mt. McKinney get destroyed trying to block Jason Taylor he then stands there with his hands at his sides as he watches Jason assault Chester and rip the ball out with two hands without showing the least bit of interest in putting a body on the guy. The second Jason Whittle set the land speed record for a 305 pound man getting blown up and giving penetration. This fumble though was still Chester's fault.

Thank you for the update, I was curious about the fumbles. You have to love the cheap last second TD. I was destrought, in my bid for a league title, that Taylor fumbled twice, and TJ whosyomomma barely touched the ball.... but I was very surprised with 5-6 second left on the 1 they just run it in.... I was LIKE WOOHOOO! CHEAP POINTS!

CT currently RB #9 for the sig bet

Yudkin: CT 151.4 + Gaytes 120.3 = 171.7

H.K.: DF 111.5 + Heap 121.7 = 133.2

Taylor 193.3 + Gates 140.4 = 333.7

Foster 113.5 + Heap 140.5 = 256.0

:popcorn:
Our bet is over, you've won. I can't believe aguy as durable as Foster actually got hurt. :shrug: CT is a lock for top 20, as well.

RB3 with bye-week fill-in ability? I doubt this even, because he'll be injured, splitting carries or on the bench by the time your RBs are on bye...I'd take him as a high-risk RB4/5 with potential for moderate fringe RB2 success.Where he's being drafted right now as RB19 ahead of Droughns, Dunn, McAllister and several other solid RBs is a joke. And the joke is on people like you, my friend.Sorry. Don't by the hype up in the 'Sota (if there is any).
This is sig-worthy. MLBrandow has to be some type of alias.

1) Yudkin CT 205.2 + AG 193.5 = 398.7

H.K. = DF 123.8 + 165.5 = 289.3

I am still in this one. Basically its a 2 on 1 scenario over the final two weeks with Foster and Heap against a hobbled Chester. Gaytes will not record anymore points this week, since he's been completely phased out of the offense. This one will go down to the wire.

2) Sig Bet

CT = RB 12

RB 20 is 183.7 points, but its Fred Taylor, who sits this week. So the next closest guys are in the 160 range, thus making CT a lock for top 20.

I was pretty sure the "season" ended with the week 16 games.

Funny enough, according to the std scoring in 3 of the leagues I play in, CT finished RB20...

Regardless, even if he finished 21 or worse, which I doubt, I'd concede defeat, because he held up much better than I anticipated. I expected him to miss several of the last games, and even though he is showing very obvious signs of wear at the end of this season and the offense is a joke, it's not what I predicted.

I think someone owes me a sig to put in my comment :confused:

I assumed the contest ran through week 17... but it doesn't look like it will matter. I was clearly wrong about Taylor, although when all is said and done it may not be by much. However, I'm glad I took the viewpoint I did on Taylor, considering how he performed weeks 14-16, which I assume may have really hurt his owners in their playoffs.

I don't look too kindly on guys who I feel will break down during the season. So far I've been correct... my problem seems to be though that I always feel like these guys will bust by midseason, and while sometimes they do, just as often they last until late season.Think I found a good quote for my sig though....

You know what's really funny.... I was just looking at ADPs....I think I actually like every starting RB in the league over Chester Taylor this year.

Nice thread everyone, good for a few laughs, for me anyway!

eta: Sig for losers -

TeamDingo, Real Man of Genius, Banger, The Scientist, Broncofan13000, The Ref, glock, & Gravity were right about Chester Taylor, he is a stud and I should have heeded their wisdom... I also wear a purple tu-tu come game time.

I'd say 260/1100/6 rushing and 45/300/1 receiving looks like the upside for him. Downside would be RBBC with Moore et al and/or injury... much lower numbers. Preseason should help us with this situation.
Well, I wasn't too far off with my projections. Pretty much nailed the receiving and TDs, a little low on the rushing... but projected 227 fantasy points, almost dead on.My problem was that I considered these projections his upside, and thus felt he would fall somewhat short of them. He did tail off in the second half, but he was a little better than I thought he would be when healthy, and a little tougher than I thought he would be in his ability to battle through his injury and stay on the field.Sig added.
