Hiward owners must be  :hot:

And Aretha could have caught it.

Misssed everything between TJ Jones TD & Slay interception

Anything of note (injuries, crazy plays)? Or just boring routine win against a bad team?
Nothing really of note. Lions run D finally came to play, not sure to credit the Lions or Bears for that....

Shootout coming I believe
Maybe. Rivers has only thrown 1 TD pass in KC since 2014. They usually play him well at home even though I understand circumstances are different this year.

He also has a career average of 246/1.3/1 vs. KC in 24 games.

He owes Payton Manning big time for making him look competent and deceiving everyone into thinking he is an NFL coach.
I get he isn't a great coach but I don't understand the hate

He's been to the playoffs twice in four seasons in Detroit (still alive for the playoffs this year), the Lions only went to the playoffs twice in the 15 seasons before he got there.

That was some lousy offensive & defensive playcalling by Detroit at the end. That was more painful than it had to be.
Honestly feels like we’re at a schematic disadvantage every week. I could rattle off 4 or 5 offensive lines who have dealt with the same level of injuries yet somehow managed to gel at one aspect or another.

Need regime change while we still have a few of Stafford’s prime years left.

15 yards for Marvin & I get a bonus. 30 mins of football to get it.

sad trombone.
Yeah, bad friggin game flow in 2nd half. My biggest concern going into the game for Jones was Detroit working with a nice lead and zero concern Chicago could catch up. 1 target in 2nd half.  :wall:

Would love to see Jones get double digit targets on occasion. He does a lot with a little.

LacK of preparation, poor schemes on both sides (play calling, LB positioning/over pursuit...how much time ya got?)

I respect Coach Caldwell more than the average fan. There are aspects not related to in-game coaching he excels at. He’s a good man.

But it’s time to rejuvenate. They don’t need to burn it all down, just keep building from the inside out. But we need to change the mindset. Mediocrity - 9/10 wins every other year & a first round exit - is not the standard. He did a good job, best Lions coach in the SB era.

He can’t take them any further. Keep moving forward.

I don’t follow the Lions so I can’t speak to the details like you can, but from an outsider looking in this reminds me of the Jets fans who couldn’t wait to see Herm go. Again, Herm wasn’t great but he led the Jets to the playoffs 3 of the 5 years he was there. They have been 3 times in the 12 years since he left.

In terms of game flow I had Howard get few carries and Jones get no 2nd half catches Argh  :wall:

Where he moved on to win Super Bowls....oh wait

Most of us, myself included, view the world through the prism of our culmulative life experiences. I know you’re Big Blue but Pennington is not analogous to Stafford. And outside of both being bad at clock management - which Coach Caldwell has greatly improved at - Herm or his situation is in no way similar to JC.

I do appreciate what you are saying. I have been that guy for years in the ongoing Lions thread. But we’re beyond the point of “let’s be patient & see how far he can take them.” That answer is already known.

Beyond that, we need Quinn to hold people accountable. When you can’t line up with 11 defenders on the field (& timeouts in your pocket) in back to back losses, that is inexcusable. When you’ve got first round talent playing alongside high priced FAs who have been to the Pro Bowl ranked outside the top 30 at their OL position, THAT IS NOT A TALENT ISSUE. That is coaching and scheme - you’re not putting your players in a position to succeed.

66 games in a row without a 100 yard rusher & every week Stafford gets knocked down 8-10-12 times. That is not ok.
