Who's better - The Machine or the Australian Pink Floyd? I've seen the latter, not the former.
I've seen both, both Aussie only once and The Machine several times. The Aussies have a much more elaborate stage production, while The Machine's show is more stripped down. Muscially, I'd say it's a push depending on the night - both are pretty spot-on though. There's also a spin-off from the Aussie show called Brit Floyd.. I saw them a few years ago when they were the touring Aussie show, but they spun off and now there are the Aussies and the Brits.

Really, you can't go wrong with any of them, and I'm sure there are other great ones out there, too.
APF handed out 3D glasses at the door last time I saw them.. turned out they were largely unnecessary, but it was a nice touch.
I also liked the touch of the kangaroo images on Mr. Screen.

When I was checking out the youtubes I couldnt believe how much more elaborate their stage/light show had become. I was lucky. When I used to see them, they were playing the local bar scene, so it was all tiny stages and no lights. They'd have a setlist, but they'd also take requests. We'd always try to get them to play Bike and sometimes, much to our entertainment, they would. They'd also throw in a few covers like Franklins Tower or Eyes of the World, and the last song before intermission was always a jammin version of The Peanuts Theme song that sent the place into an absolute frenzy. The highlight of the every show, of course, was when everyone would join in as he sang "it's good to smoke a bowl, beside the fire". :lmao: Great times

They still do that - seems to be an ongoing tradition.I mentioned in another thread awhile back that the highlight for me was seeing them do "Dogs" and "Echoes" back-to-back - and spot on. That was about 3 or 4 years ago - they are still always good, but I've never heard them sound better then.

If Shine On You Crazy Diamond doesn't do well in this contest, I'm done with the FFA for music.

Also got to see Dogs, Pigs and Sheep in the running. Animals FTW.

Polls will be set up shortly.

32 song tourney with two regions - WATERS and GILMOUR - with the winner of each bracket facing off at the end

Not expecting too many surprises, but let's see how it goes
