Chris Berman & Adam Schefter (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
As has been pointed out in other threads, most people hate it when these tools know who the next pick is, and then they tell us (as if they are making some GENIUS guess) before the Commish announces it. My plan is to hit the mute button when each team has exactly 2:00 left on the clock, and turn the volume back on just before Goodell utters his first word into the microphone.

Is there a better way?

I could care less if I hear it from Goodell coming out of the mic or 2 minutes earlier from one of these guys. In fact it is like finiding out the winner of something without having to wait for that commercial break first.

I really think it is a non issue. Does it really matter if they give it away?

I don't mean to pile on RN, but I agree wif this guy.

Every time one of the experts makes a prediction just before the timer is up, I take a long drink of my Captain and Coke. Makes for a fun game, and eventually, I don't care anymore.

ESPN is just horrible. They have such a passion for reporting news before its actually news. Theyre now keeping a chart of the picks, even though theyre not actually picks. My suggestion, watch NFLN if you got it. The 4 letter network is covering this thing like they do everything else. With very little thought of what's actually BEST for the viewer.

I like Mayock and everything about the NFLN's coverage, but I would miss Kiper if I watched NFLN exclusively.

They ruined my Christmas morning by telling me what my gifts were!!!1.01!

:lmao:

If you don't like that, then don't tune in. This goes with the territory.

NFLN is terrific. My first year watching it exclusively. Unless they dramatically change their format, I'll never turn back to ESPN.

Surprised how few people agree with RN on this. I think it's obnoxious when they crow about knowing the pick and give it away with minutes left on the clock. But I guess they want to look like they are getting a scoop, and in their defense, if it is out there, someone else will report it anyway.

As far as how to combat it, I'm hoping Cowherd on ESPN radio is better. We'll probably be hanging at the pool drinking beer most of the day and listening on the radio, popping inside from time to time to watch on TV.

(And to think, if you listened to most people on this board, SoCal is a horrible place to live. )

Yeah I agree with RN here... when they are already splashing the likely picks 1-4 already, barring trades, it's a buzzkill...

I'm with you on this..

I'm gonna mute NFLN a half hour before the draft and just watch the draft unfold.

I don't recall Schefter ever calling out picks once the draft starts though.

Merry Christmas GO RAIDERS!

Would someone please explain to me why this is any different from any other year. Granted, some years' top picks are more predictable than others, but honestly why is this somehow a surprise to anyone?

This is Berman's/Kiper's/Mayock's/etc.'s biggest taffy pull of the year - why are you surprised by this?
