Chris Brown (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know why FBG changed Chris Brown's rating in their cheatsheets?

(This is NOT a bash thread against rankings!!! I just want to know why the change.)

Usually changes in the FBG weekly cheatsheets from one day to the next are one of two varieties:

a) Only a slight change. For instance, some WR was ranked as the 17th yesterday and 15th today. (Nothing major - just slight tweaking probably by Dodds.)

b) Big change. For instance, a movement like Chris Brown yesterday to today. I consider a RB jump of more than 10 spots considerable. This is usually explained by new news out there regarding the player (or some other player on that guys team that would affect his playing time).

But I see no new news on Brown or Henry. And the only new stuff on Lendale is that he might be inactive tomorrow. Could that news alone - ie, that their 3rd string rb might not suit up - cause such a big change in the rankings?

I only ask cause I want to understand. If anyone knows, please let me know.

Thanks.

I think news of White probably being inactive helped. Also, I think the projections started conservative due to the unknowns and rose as more info was known

What info would that be? Fisher still hasn't announced a starter.

This may not be "news", but I think Fisher is being as candid as Fisher ever is (not very), but he does infer. from the Blogger:

Two back attack

It looks as if rookie running back LenDale White could be out of the picture and not in uniform against the Jets on Sunday.

White was limited in practice Thursday as he continues to be slowed with an ankle injury.

Fisher said "we're definitely going to go with" Chris Brown and Travis Henry and White will be evaluated later."

"If he is struggling through (today)," Fisher said, "then I think the likelihood of him not being active increases."

But then White practiced on Friday, did he not?

to what degree?

Because they came to their senses and realized that Travis Henry and LenDale White are both head cases with attitude and substance problems (well, don't KNOW that LenDale has drug issues) and that the only threat to Chris Brown's job is injury.

Unfortunately for Chris Brown, injury is his constant companion. That and shame.

I like Brown tomorrow and he will start. However, last year Brown started and then when he reached around 15 carries they cut him off and played Henry. But then Henry was hurt and then he got suspended. Once he was back he wass never really trusted again.

I'm considering starting Brown but I have two issues.

1. Are they going to cut him off at 15 carries?

2. Are they going to bring him out at the gaol for henry? Statistically, Brown is one of the worst short yardage - goalline backs in the league. He's had plenty of opportunity thusfar in his career and I believe thusfar his career rushing TD high for a season is 6.

Those are the two questions we need to get answered right there.

1. NO. IMO, they are going to use him up (see if he can hang with a full work load is what I mean here. Then see if he can last a season with TWO RB's on his heals for PT). If he gets hurt, so be it, they feel they have two capable back ups now. So why not get all you can get from him early? Brown is a great early season play IMO.2. Possibly, but Brown is not known/or relied on for goal line work. At the worst, if they get to the goal line, Brown will be the one most likely to get them there. I'll take 100+ yards with the potential of a long to medium range TD. Again, early season is the time for the team to ride Brown, thus the time for FF players that have him, to use him or trade him after 1-3 weeks of producing.
