Chris Henry TEN the backup RB (1 Viewer)

"We are in need of somebody at that position with Calvin (Lowry) probably going to be our starting safety," Lowry said. "As we've watched how strong and fast Henry is, we thought he could do that so we're going to look at him. That was starting from scratch right there with the basics."

That reads to me "if you are a starter you aren't being the gunner" so why look at Henry if he was in the running as starting RB ? Certainly in the short term it puts him as a backup but dressed on gamedays. Last year they largely only dressed 2 rbs so one of White/Brown would start and the other would sit....

Chris Henry is well behind White and Brown; he's never been talked about as a threat to open the season as the starter. Still incredibly raw....

This is a huge mess.

Chris Brown has done it before, but he was a FA and hardly anybody wanted him. Can he stay healthy?

Lendale White is lazy, but he is the best runner between the tackles. Can his hammy's hold up and will he stay in shape?

Chris Henry has the best speed, but he is a rookie. He is also very inexperienced. Can he learn and develop quickly enough to battle with Brown and White?

LHUCKS and I have banged the drum regarding Chris Henry. He is just not a good RB, despite where the Titans took him in the draft.

White and Brown haven't done much yet to date either, so if Henry can't beat these two out, that should tell you all you need to know.

Lots of gaps in logic there. Henry wasn't drafted to be a day one starter. Id consider him very similar to Antonio Cromartie from the 2006 draft; a physical specimen who will rarely see the field until hes had a good amount of instruction at the pro level.

Just because hes sitting behind Lendale White(also a 2nd round pick, going into his 2nd year), and Chris Brown(a former 1000 yd rusher who has battled injury problems) doesn't somehow validate your "not a good RB" theory.

;) There is no gap in logic. I have seen him play live multiple times. He is terrible. But go ahead and draft him along with Cromartie.

:)

Yeah, only Ron Dayne rivals Henry in the volume of debate to crap RB ratio.

Henry is practicing as the 2nd kick returner as well. Fisher is clear that a 3rd tailback won't be active without being on special teams since Hall is active as the FB.

 Henry is raw and made it clear in interviews i've heard that he was very open to doing whatever the team asked him including special teams. He probably won't get much of a shot to compete for the starting RB job this season since he came into college new to the RB position and has more learning to do than most rookie RB's.He's a raw project, think the Devery Henderson of RB's.

From what I've seen at Titans camp, Henry looks to be a favorite to return kickoffs. Also, Henry looks good at practice catching the ball out of the flat or on short routes over the middle in the 2 min drills.

Still there's another month of camp, and this is only after a few days from me watching a couple hours of workouts.

:( I went to UofA, I watch every UofA game, half of them in person. Brown and White were TWICE the RB that Henry was in college...TWICE.Chris Henry sucks and barring a minor miracle, will suck at the pro level. If he does perform at the pro level it will be the greatest tranformation for a runningback in the modern era. He's a workout warrior...nothing else. Think of Carl Lewis trying out at WR for the Cowboys...that's how bad he is. To this day I still can't understand how he was selected ahed of guys like Kenny Irons.

So you are saying he is worth a flier then?

I'm loving the news of Henry on the kick crew. I've come to believe that the chubby Lenny White wont be motivated until he scores an NFL touchdown and actually gets to spike the football for the first time. The adrenaline and the roar of the TN crowd will instantly transform him into a workout warrior who trims down to a chisled, yet powerful 215 pounds of pure probowl-bound manhood.
