Chris Henry, Tennessee Titan RB (1 Viewer)

Steel Town

Last I heard he violated the substance abuse policy and a suspension was looming, pending the obligatory appeal. Any updates on where this appeal is, and his likelihood of missing time?

I am desperate at the rb position, and Henry has actually filled in well a few weeks. I am not sure whether to hold a roster spot for him at this point.

i heard that he is appealing the suspension.... so we may not know what will happen for a little while.

In either case, it looks like Brown is back, and I suspect that means a vastly reduced role for Mr. Henry.

Titans waiting to see the status of Brown for the JAX game. If Brown is able to practice all week and looks to be good for the JAX game, Henry is expected to not appeal the suspension and go ahead and serve the 4 games. If Brown isn't ready, Henry will likely appeal to give Brown another week to heal up.

Is this your reasoning, or did you hear this from a media source, or even better, someone with the team?In either case, :goodposting:

a bit of both...
Titans Coach Jeff Fisher said on Monday he expects rookie running back Chris Henry to appeal his looming four-game suspension for allegedly violating the NFL's steroids and related substance policy.

Henry can continue to play while waiting for his appeal to be heard.

But if running back Chris Brown is healthy — he missed the past three games with an ankle sprain — Henry could decide to go ahead and serve his suspension now.

Brown is expected to practice this week and has a good chance to play Sunday against the Jaguars, Fisher said. Henry filled in for Brown as LenDale White's backup.

Henry's situation could serve as a lesson for others, Fisher said. As reported Friday, a source said Henry took a prescription medication that contained a component on the league's list of banned substances.

"Any time there is a mistake, an error in judgment, we discuss it and we try and learn from the lesson,'' Fisher said. "I think (Henry) certainly regrets what he did even though I don't think he thought he was doing anything wrong, and that is really all I can say. It is a league matter and all I can say is it is my understanding he is considering an appeal.''

any word on Brown?

Brown returned to practice, but White sat out with a sore toe:

Titans notebook: Brown comes back to practiceBy PAUL KUHARSKYand JIM WYATTThe TennesseanTitans running back Chris Brown returned to the practice field Wednesday for his first full session since Oct. 12, two days before he suffered a high ankle sprain against the Buccaneers.Brown split carries with rookie Chris Henry. LenDale White was given the bulk of a short practice off to rest a sore toe."I think Chris is ready to come back, but coach Fisher has to decide what we're going to do," White said. "Chris looked real good. He had some time off and he told me he feels good, so we'll be happy to see him back." Henry has appealed a four-game suspension for a violation of the league's steroid and related banned substances policy. He could continue to play during the appeals process, which means Brown could get one more week of rest."I am practicing, and we'll take it as it comes," Henry said. "It is tough to have the possibility that you are not going to be able to play for a while, but we'll handle it day by day and try and get through it."
I haven't seen much about White being hurt, so it may not be much. Any concern, Tennessee homers?

I don't get it. Henry can take his suspension any time he wants? Are there any dates set for anything here?
