Christine Michael Volume 3: Inevitable Greatness Soon Achieved (2 Viewers)

Cowboys claimed RB Rod Smith off waivers from the Seahawks.
Although nothing about Smith's profile stands out, it's noteworthy any time a running back hits Dallas' roster with Joseph Randle's hold on the starting job tenuous at best. Smith is a rookie UDFA out of Ohio State.

Someone write a 10 page essay on this run please:

https://vine.co/v/e0Vb2HWbI22
Very nice run ... Think he got 2 yards more then the other two guys would've gotten
Seems like he had daylight if he juked and went sideline.
definitely not ...the corner (or safety) would have tackled him for a shorter gain
Don't see that at all.
Seemed like he made the right choice of cutting it in for an extra 2 to me. Love a back with that kind of vision.

You guys are F( )@&!#G insane!! The Christine Michael part 2 thread is already 9 pages deep!!
This all goes away as soon as Denver realizes the huge mistake they made in letting Tebow slip away. This could have been their year... still time!

What, seriously? No I missed that...
Yeah when he stood up, he turned to the sideline with a scowl on his face and threw his arms up in the air. He was immediately pulled. I think there's a screw loose.
Ya know, I was super interested in this. It does indeed look like he taunts his own team immediately after the run.
Looks to me like he stood up and gave "what's going on now" stance, because he starts to walk to the bench, but keeps looking over as if he's getting some info.

Huh, that site has daily practice notes.

Dallas Cowboys practice notes: Wednesday, Oct. 14... Running back Joseph Randle received first-team reps despite the news of a possible switch at the position.

Left out the other important part of that Michael blurb:

"Christine Michael is expected to challenge Randle as RB No. 1 in the next 10 days. See Michael working out below."
Let's see. Earlier today rumors swirled about potential changes to Dallas starters. Michael was included in those rumors along with L Collins. The article above says that Cassell and Collins both practiced with the first team today. Michael did not.Isn't it possible that the rumors of Michael's impending climb to the top of the depth chart.....was based on a misinterpretation of some coach's comments?

Theres just so much news..

It takes awhile to discuss various points (from different sources) to actually understand what was meant (if anything)

Sadly a post like yours might result in two or more posts..

Someone is sure to pick up on your lack of knowledge (stating Woah ten pages) and make an attempt to bring you, and other new readers up to speed w/ cliff notes..

Then someone else will either see something missing Or Feel a need to clarify something quite important..

(condensed version) Looks like Dallas is gonna be short a draft pick next Season

The media members that reported it are generally pretty solid and I doubt they'd report it if there was a chance it was a misinterpretation of a coach's comments. I also think there's too much smoke here and it makes too much sense that they'd want to spend the bye week re-examining their entire offense given recent results.

I might actually start him this week. I'll take half of the Dallas running game even with the line underperforming over half of the Denver running game.

Michael seems to be gaining some positive momentum. Hopefully he can log 10+ carries soon so we can see what we've got. He could have huge fantasy playoff implications if he were to wrangle that starting gig and be the guy when Dez and Romo get back.

Agreed but its too bad he faces 2 top 5 run defenses in the playoffs.

Yeah, it appears so, but let's be honest here.

Who have the Jets faced? Cleveland  , Indy  , Philly who run roughshod over them, and Miami  .

Same with the Bills, they played Indy, Pats (Lewis scored 24), Miami :yuck:, and the Giants and Titans, both of who scored ok on them.

The Jets were a top 5 run defense last season as well, and added another major piece to their D-line.

If you follow that link hopefully they will have the daily practice updates. Michael "working out" isn't getting 1st team reps. Cassell and Collins have already been declared starters. At some point Mike will have to get those 1st team reps if anything is happening.

By the way, I know some disagree about Collins' actual performance, but if Mike does get a share I'd be real encouraged about what he (and Randle) can do behind Collins. And maybe, just maybe Cassell can be more effective than Weeden, people might be underestimating the run game as a whole to begin with thinking of how it was with Weeden and Leary.

Cowboys RBs coach Gary Brown says the team wants to take the "reins" off Christine Michael and "let him rock."

"I think he's where he needs to be, and we want to take the reins off him and let him rock," was Brown's exact quote. The Cowboys have correctly determined they aren't getting enough big plays from Joseph Randle and Darren McFadden, and want to see what he can do as they wait for the returns of Dez Bryant and Tony Romo. There's a reason Michael has been mothballed for the first two and a half years of his career — he's been a slow developer, and has sometimes lacked feel for the game — but his athletic ability is off the charts. He could make something happen behind Dallas' dominant offensive line. Michael should be owned in all 12-team leagues. We'll have a better idea of how things will shake out in Week 7 once the Cowboys return from their bye.

Oh SNAP. This is from the Cowboys RB coach.

Gary Brown, asked about C-Mike's comfort level: "I think he's where he needs to be, and we want to take the reins off him and let him rock."
More from Cowboys RB coach. He sounds like a father seeing his son graduating to greatness.

Nope....looks like they were correct. On a scale of 1 - 10 how jealous are you that you don't own him?

This smells like a fruitless chase. I've participated in many. Not this one. If I'm wrong you can thank me for finally being the anti-jinx that gets Christine off the schneid.

Congrats CMike owners. Hopefully he produces. I was one of the haters but saw the writing on the wall with Randle. Moved him for a 1st 3 weeks ago. It is because of you that I did. Thanks!!!

The chase is FF. I chased Gordon & AP last year and passed on Beckham and it cost me. But really though there are $ involved you have to have fun and keeping a season long iron in the fire is what it's all about. And if Mike breaks a long one two Sundays from now? Magic.

I've owned him since my league's rookie draft.

I don't think he'll be named the starter by next game but he will be in a crowded rbbc coming out of the break. Obviously Seattle is a high motivation game for him but they are also a sick defense which will be facing Cassell.

Christine Michael was the only RB in the NFL in 2014 with 3 runs of 15+ yards in less than 50 attempts.

Jordan Ross@TheJordanRoss

Christine Michael had 3 runs of 15+ yards in 34 attempts last year. DMC had 4 in 154 attempts last year and has 0 in 37 attempts this year.

Jordan Ross@TheJordanRoss 2h2 hours ago Fort Worth, TX

Christine Michael had the 5th most yards after contact per carry among all RB's w/ 30+ carries in 2014. Darren McFadden is 49th this season.

Rodney Breland@breland_rodney 56m56 minutes ago

@TheJordanRoss is c-mike the starter now?

Jordan Ross@TheJordanRoss 55m55 minutes ago

@breland_rodney no, but he'll get way more opportunities than he was been getting. Could see him and Randle splitting carries.
Rodney Breland@breland_rodney 52m52 minutes ago

@TheJordanRoss darn!!! Well at least he is moving up....I also have a feeling McFadden will be cut at some point.... What is your thoughts?

Jordan Ross@TheJordanRoss 50m50 minutes ago

@breland_rodney I think DMC could be in danger of being the odd man out, especially if they find a RB that returns kicks/punts.

Kurt Warner (via @nflnetwork) on Matt Cassel being named Cowboys starter:

"You're going to get a QB who's much more willing to attack down the field..."
No updates until next week most likely:

The Cowboys are on a bye this week and don't practice again until next Wednesday. ...

Christine Michael's one carry displayed vision, deciveness, burst & power. Haven't see that from the other RBs

Rod Smith's 2nd carry. Breaks more tackles on this run than DMc has so far this season

I remember getting excited this year about one replay.
