I'm tempted for the HD version.think it is worth the extra 100 for HD and 4 gigs?

This is very tempting.doh, this new Acer is basically what i was looking for...anyone want to buy a barely used HP 14?
This is pretty much the only complaint I have about my c720 - screen sucks. I am still very happy with it though, especially for the price.curious to see if the "HD" has a brighter display with better viewing angles than the c720.
maybe my eyes are teh sucks b/c the screen on my HP14 is just fine so i don't see the HD being worth it. Viewing angles could be better on my HP14 butThis is pretty much the only complaint I have about my c720 - screen sucks. the HP had a better screen than the c720. the c720 had a newer processor, more RAM and more connectivity options.maybe my eyes are teh sucks b/c the screen on my HP14 is just fine so i don't see the HD being worth it. As for 2 or 4GB, i am definitely looking to go with 4. My experience has been that i can never have too much memory.
not sure if you can get 4gb with no HD, probably not
The 299 looks like a solid bet to me.Actually you can get the HD for 299, but it is the 2GB version. That sounds tempting.
Looks like 279 is the cheapest one. No HD, 2GB.
299 is 2GB, HD
379 is 4GB and HD
Yeah, absolutely no complaints whatsoever on how the c720 runs, very pleased with the speed and battery life. I looked at the 11.6 inch HP when I got mine, but I preferred the better processor, and then the smaller HPs had the issues with the chargers.the HP had a better screen than the c720. the c720 had a newer processor, more RAM and more connectivity options.maybe my eyes are teh sucks b/c the screen on my HP14 is just fine so i don't see the HD being worth it. If only you could use the brighten button to make it well... brighter.I had the C720 for like 2 weeks. That screen was abysmal. Not sure how anyone could be pleased with it. It was way too dark.
You can turn the brightness all the way up but it's still a pretty crappy screen. If only you could use the brighten button to make it well... brighter.I had the C720 for like 2 weeks. That screen was abysmal. Not sure how anyone could be pleased with it. It was way too dark.

Just realized that this thing does not have any built in 4g connectivity. Am i reading it wrong? While i almost always use my chromebook tethered to my phone's 4g, it's still nice to have in a pinchThis is very tempting.doh, this new Acer is basically what i was looking for...anyone want to buy a barely used HP 14?

Someone please bump this thread when it is available.
Looks awesome for the price. These things are computing of the future.Just got this. I'm pretty blown away how nice this thing is for 200 bucks. Took me like 1 minute to get up and browsing.
I've printed to Google Cloud Print from mine in the past. Works great. How do you guys connect to a printer? Need to be able to print off stuff and also save onto a flash drive.
awesome as far as i'm concerned. this thing is stupid light.Looks awesome for the price. These things are computing of the future.Just got this. I'm pretty blown away how nice this thing is for 200 bucks. Took me like 1 minute to get up and browsing.
What's the screen like? I am looking to pick up another of these as my dedicated "den" machine.
The screen on the 720 isn't great as others have mentioned. The only real drawback IMO. I still love mine but am tempted by the new HD versions.Looks awesome for the price. Acer has done what I didn't think was possible — make a Chromebook with an ARM processor in it that I would actually want to use on a regular basis. That's quite a feat considering the heavy workload I expect to put my Chromebook through, and the Acer Chromebook 13 actually does it while providing solid battery life at the same time. Even though it's on the wrong side of 3 lbs and has a subpar screen, the hardware experience as a whole is worthy of praise as well for a laptop that could set you back as little as $279.
I can say that the Acer Chromebook 13 has been pushed up towards the top of the pile when it comes to Chromebooks with larger screens, provided you're okay with the slightly slower processor and heavier weight than some of the competitors out there. If you're going to be bothered by the screen you should probably hold off on buying a Chromebook altogether until something with IPS comes out, but if you're willing to take on the Chromebook 13 knowing its flaws from the start, it's going to be a great choice for a good number of people out there.
The Toshiba 2 looks so nice though.I read that review the other day... I think I want one.
I think the best option is to give that money to sick childrenSlightly off topic, but close: what is the fastest/most powerful Chromebox I can buy? I'm looking for a desktop setup to leave as my sign-in-to-the-office terminal. It will be dedicated really for Citrix and web browsing only. I also don't want a huge obtrusive thing on my desk--this will be for a den/office, and I'd like something small and sleek and out of the way.
What's my best option here? Buy a Chomebox bundle and then pick up a decent monitor? Which is the best Chromebox bundle?
I thought about looking at a Mac Mini, but really that's way more cost than what I need to spend on this thing.
Are these like sweatshop children who'll do my job for me? I think you need to stop messing around and get the Pixel. What's the highest power/fastest/best Chromebook and Chromebox? I want one of each.
Have they released a new edition of the pixel? Is it still $1500?I think you need to stop messing around and get the Pixel. What's the highest power/fastest/best Chromebook and Chromebox? I want one of each.
