Got an unsolicited offer in a 12 team league.SJax and Colston for CJ. Took it without asking any questions.Good example of how differently people view value. I am glad to wait out SJax and Colston's injury effects, and he's apparently thinking CJ is ready to break out. We'll see how it shakes out...but I know I do feelbetter with them on my squad than I did with CJ.
That's a fine deal if you want to finish "in the middle". If you want to win your league, it's a terrible trade for you.
Dude really? Why do you have to be a #### about this move?No one knows how this will pan out. And it is certainly a fair trade. Granted the guy needs to wait until SJ and Colston are healthy, but there is no need to berate him. This trade wasnt one sided. People like you annoy me. Im sorry we're not Nostradamus like you
Take is easy buddy....lol. My point is that it all comes down to upside. EVEN if Jackson and Colston stay healthy(which is unlikely), their upside is limited. CJ could win the league for you if he gets things going. I didn't "berate" anyone. You are the one making it personal. How dare I give an opinion on a public message board? You're funny.
Im not making it personal.what do you mean upside? If anything CJ and colston are the definition of upside. You were just trying to look cool in front of everyboby. Like you knew what you were talking about. You we're trying to make WBerry look like an idiot. Like a bully. You should apologize to him
Hey guys, didn't mean to cause a ruckus with my post. And I didn't take anything personally.I read the opinions that I made a poor trade, and I respectfully disagree. It may not work out the way I hope it will, but it was a calcuated move with the goal to help me win the championship in my league. My willingness to make the trade hinges on my belief that I simply don't think Chris Johnson is going to make me regret this move. Now, I am not expecting huge things from Steven Jackson, but if he can be a solid RB3, and an occasional Flex I will be very happy. Colston, on the other hand, is a different story. Given the make-up of my team, Colston could put me over the top. If he is able to stay healthy (I know it's a big IF)....but if he is, and I am right in thinking he will be the number one WR in NO, and that NO may be in more than their fair share of shootouts---then I believe this trade could make me very difficult to beat late in the season. I think I have drafted and traded well enough to this point that a move like this....with one player doing what I think he will...could mean a championship. I've been playing ff a long time--I've made some good trades and a few I regret. But, whether it works out my way or not, it does not mean that I made a stupid trade. My gut may prove to be mistaken, but I'm listening to it. There are some people who think CJ is just waiting to become the CJ of old (and I don't doubt he'll have a few great games), but I happen to be in the camp that believes that Chris Johnson is not going to be everything that his patient owners are hoping that he will become. If I am wrong, good on him....then I get to enjoy watching him be awesome while pretending I'm still happy with my trade....

Good to see Wberry has some perspective. Even thought I don't like the trade for you personally it's a well thought out deal and I can see why you made it. It will be fun to see what happens and this is a perfect example of the essence of Fantasy Football. Reasonable, intelligent people can disagree in trying to make educated guesses about future performance. And the results play out in front of us with stats that measure the outcome. As for this Shermanator dude....Wow. Get a grip. What is up with the SP lately that disagreeing with something means you are attacking people personally. I've seen a handful of post lately where people overreact to a difference in opinion and start trying to make things personal. Ironically when accusing someone else of doing the same. Shermanator...asking for an apology, accusing others of berating people and being bullies. Relax, dude. YOU are the one taking things way too seriously. Geez

Well the trade was vetoed by the league. Guess CJ for Welker is not a fair trade
It's not fair for the guy getting CJ. I'm shocked it got vetoed. On paper that's reasonable value. If one redrafted for the entire season today, both would be late 1st/early 2nd round picks.
The owners that vetoed said the person getting Welker is making out in the deal. I need a RB and stocked up on WR's and willing to take a gamble, if thats what you can even call it, that CJ will return to form.
No f'n way does that trade get vetoed - what was the reason given? Incredulous!! .....seriously.This would drive me nuts- no way on earth that trade should be vetoed.
Fantasy football leagues that use the "vote on trades" rule deserve the headaches that come with it. It is one of worst rules in fantasy fb.

Just traded CJ for Ryan Matthews. Had I started the season with a better record (I am 1-2) I would have probably waited. But I've been patient with first round picks before and the fantasy football season is too short to wait very long. He has shown nothing as a runner and his receptions are the only thing that made him marginally startable.

After losing J Charles and Miles Austin and starting 1-2 for the season in a start 2 qb ppr league, I traded what essentially amounted to Stafford,D Williams and A Collie for CJ,Nicks and Bradford. Stafford was #3 in our league in scoring overall. I hated to breakup Brady and Stafford as my team strength, but I needed some reinforcements at RB and WR. I wasn't going to win as my team sat, and I won't win unless CJ becomes CJ again. So it was an easy risk to take. Though the other team will be much stronger if Stafford continues to play well, because he stocked up at WR and RB and had nothing to speak of at QB.
