I saw that FBG has CIN DEF ranked #11 ahead of a lot of other teams with better matchups. Can anybody provide any info on why they would be ranked this high?

It heavily depends on the scoring system - while they give up a lot of points, they are able to generate a lot of turnovers as they gamble. This makes them the kind of defense that goes all over the board.

I never have understood scoring systems that don't consider points allowed. After all that is the DEF/ST's job, to stop the other team from scoring. In this respect I guess the best defenses are actually the worst. They play many more downs and have more chances to get sacks, ints, or fum recs.
