Cincy Weather Today (1 Viewer)

I am rolling with Palmer over Big Ben this week(tough decision). I also have Henry and may start him especially if Fitz is limited.
Knowing how Ben did, do you wish you had started him? He had an awesome match-up, and it seems a little known fact but he has the 3rd most TD passes in the NFL. Very gutsy call on your part, i hope it works out for you. I feel very good with Ben's points this week.

Anyone think the CLE defense could be a sneaky play against a disinterested Bengals squad?
They sound motivated to me  Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer gave the Browns more reason to be wary of the matchup Sunday in Paul Brown Stadium when he vowed Wednesday, ''We're going to come out gunning.''

The Bengals have won five of the past six meetings, but the Browns prevailed 51-45 on Sept. 16. Revenge could be on the Bengals' minds.

''I don't know if 'get even' is the right word,'' Palmer said on a conference call. ''It's an exciting game for us to play in. We're coming out firing on all cylinders and really playing like we've got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

''Cleveland's in a spot where they've got everything to lose; they've got to win this game. We're going to come out loose, having a great time, having fun because there's really no pressure on us. We can swing it all over the place, really have fun with it and try to knock these guys off the pedestal they're on right now.''

Windy. A few showers early with partly cloudy skies later in the day. Morning high of 53F with temps falling to near 35F. Winds WSW at 25 to 35 mph. Chance of rain 30%.

The rain should be out of Cincy before kickoff. I believe the playing field is pretty well shielded from the wind. This forecast should not thwart any skill players or kickers and anybody starting either one of these defenses does not deserve to win.

The one skill position player I'd be most concerned about if the wind is at 25 mph or higher is Chris Henry. The Bengals have curiously reduced him to little more than a downfield threat. They aren't using him the way they have in the past at all. In last week's game he got four targets and all of them were bombs. That's it. That type of role does not lend itself to strong production in my opinion should the winds be high. So if that's the case tomorrow I think Henry goes from a nice sleeper pick to being someone who should be on your bench.Given how putrid he's been the last three games, I'd be concerned about Kellen Winslow even if it was 80 and sunny, but that's another issue entirely.

Hope the wind is a non factor. I have to choose between Palmer and Anderson for my SB! Palmer is in now, but I am sure I will second guess for the next few days!

I'm playing Braylon, and my opponent is playing Winslow and Jurevicius (he's been KILLED by injuries at WR).

Due to the possible 2 -for- 1 tradeoff here, I hope DA passes for 27 yards. :blackdot:

I need a big week to have a shot at finishing in the money so I took a gamble with playing Palmer over Big Ben(really didn't think Big Ben was going to have a great game, thought he would definately have a good one). I hope the wind is a non-factor too. I'm not sure how the wind affects play at Paul Brown Stadium, anyone know?

The only thing that the wind will effect is the loooong bomb....short to medium passes will still be used all day long , and the rest will be up to the player catching the ball...with these defenses that catch could be turned into an 80 yard TD. Unless there `s a blizzard or heavy rain i cant see NOT starting all offensive players on both teams.

 BIG changes though will be on tap for Sunday as much colder and windier weather move in. We will become rainy overnight as a cold front approaches the region. The chance for rain for late tonight and Sunday morning will be 100%, with some heavy rain in areas. After the morning rain, the cold front will come in, temperatures will fall quickly during the afternoon and some of the rain could end as a few snow showers. The most we could see in areas would be a dusting or so by Sunday night. The big weather story though will be the wind and wind chills. Winds will gust up to 45 mph at times giving us wind chills well into the 20s. Holiday decorations and trash cans could be knocked around in the strong winds! Expect a chilly, windy game for the Bengals vs. Browns.

just confirming that it IS very windy here in Cincinnati now (9am). Patio furniture blown everywhere. Strong gusts and then it settles down.

Not sure if gametime will be similar, but right now it doesn't look promising for the kicking game, Henry and even CJ. Housh does most of his damage underneath. I would expect the Browns to run Jamal 30 times anyway since the Bengals run D is dismal.

Watson might do well in ppr leagues.

Thanks for the TRULY local info! Looks like significant wind will all but eliminate downfield passing. Any chance it gets cold enough to get snow at gametime? Keep us informed. Thanks!

It's early though. I'd rather have strong gusts then a constant swirling wind anyway. What's the deal with the wind and how cincy's field is situated? I think someone on here earlier said that it shielded some of the winds that may come off the river?

It's time to plug in the "JUGS machine", Palmer needs to show off his arm today.

I remember a game 2 years ago in Cincy, where wind played a huge factor during the fantasy playoffs. Hope this plays out a little better.

13 for 27, 93 yards, 1 TD for Palmer that day.

If anybody can give a report on the storm of confusion surrounding Marvin Lewis's starting RB today, that'd be appreciated.

Ditto...right now I put Portis back in just because I am unsure about Watson. Though, IMO, Watson at worst will get some points in the passing game...whereas my other RBs have worse downsides (Kolby, KJ, Portis)

I think the bad weather makes watson a better play than usual. The wind isnt going to affect the little dump off passes that he gets.

Its not the weather Im worried about...its the comments when asked if Watson would get the start/carries and Marvin responded "we'll see". Lots of rumors about Dorsey getting more action.

What confusion? Have there been any reports which suggest it will be Dorsey logging the majority of the touches today and not Watson? Can someone provide a link? No BS but I haven't seen that anywhere. Watson is the backup; he's started when Rudi's been out. Dorsey has gotten a few touches here and there and will likely continue in that role but I see nothing to suggest he's going to supplant Watson as the primary RB today. Watson has done well in that role and could be an absolute monster today - especially in PPR leagues. If I was a Watson owner I would be drooling over this matchup with Rudi out. Rudi's best game of the season came in Week 2 against the Browns when he went over 100 yards rushing and scored on a reception. This is an incredibly good matchup for the Bengals' running game today in my opinion - and if the weather plays a strong role like it appears it might that only enhances Watson's potential.
Lots of rumors about Dorsey getting more action.
Besides the "We'll see" quote what other rumors are there about Dorsey? I'm seriously wondering.

People have listed several places including a Bengal chatroom. That little quote did set off some rumors. That is all that I stated.
Link to that? I'd like to check it out.
It has been mentioned in at least one other thread here...sorry, I don't have it bookmarked and I don't feel like searching for it...just requesting if anyone has any additional info.

11:30 -- overcast, not raining, winds have settled down since earlier. Out the window, you can see the trees moving, but not as bad as before.

PBS is on the river, but the winds wouldn't come in from that side (river is on east). I don't think of it as windy as the Meadowlands or Heinz field.

Gotta choose between Favre and Palmer in one league.

The weather looks bad in both places but Cincy will be warmer (around 32F with a windchill that feels around 20F) whereas Chicago will be in the teens and feel like 0F.

Chicago has big winds and so does Cincy, but maybe not as strong.

The temperature difference is significant, if you ask me.

So what's it like in Cincy?

Accuweather.com has the winds at 20mph gusting to 36mph for Cincy (27mph gusting to 43mph in Chicago).

Conditions look a bit better in Cincy at the moment, particulary with it about 20 degrees warmer.

I live downtown as well, and the weather looks fine. It is a little windy, but I doesn't look like anything that will have any impact on the game.

Thanks bud, but I have been around here long enough to know to look around before starting another thread. I didn't see one specifically about Cincy weather so started this one. There is weather related info in the game thread, but wanted to create a place for locals to chime in current conditions.

 seriously?

I guess you also didn't see another seven threads about the Colts possibly resting starters?

They showed the stadium on NFL Today...did not look good

Wind gusts 25-50MPH...Carson threw chad a pass and it even chad was shocked how much it moved.

Dawson kicked a 30 yard field goal that started right down the middle then went about 20 yards to the left
