CJ officially demands trade (1 Viewer)

He's not going anywhere (although if I were Tennessee I'd offer a 3rd right now to see if the Bengals bit).

Unhappy in Cincinnati is what he's billing it as on the 2 interviews I've seen. Although, he's not the best communicator in the world.

Eagles are officially listening to trade offers for Lito

Eagles need a top flight receiver

Bengals need defensive help

Hmmmmmmmmmm :goodposting:

He may not be Barak Obama but he has certainly made his position clear. This has nothing to do with Money. He is pissed that he is being thrown under the bus by the Bengals. He feels he is being blamed for their lack of success and that they don't appreciate him. He doesn't want to be the scapegoat in Cincy. His position is that "if I'm the problem, than get rid of me."

But his position is just plain stupid. Who has blamed him for their lack of success? I think probably anyone who has followed the team knows that defense has been their biggest problem on the field, and the countless arrests being their biggest off the field problem, so Johnson is just making something out of nothing with that nonsense.

Yeah, I am sure Andy Reid is just dying to trade for T.O., Jr.
He was willing to make Randy Moss the highest paid receiver in the NFL, so why wouldn't he be willing to acquire Ocho Cinco?
Johnson isn't in Moss's league, when the latter is motivated. After last season, Moss deserves to be the highest paid WR. Johnson has never done anything to deserve equal billing to Moss. Besides, Moss's biggest problem throughout his career has been motivation and playing hard all of the time. To my knowledge, Moss never drove a locker room apart like Owens did in Philly, or took a swing at his head coach like Johnson allegedly has in Cincy.

He's pretty good at communicating that he's all about himself and is basically throwing a tantrum.

"I want to continue my career wherever I have the opportunity to win a playoff game and get to the Super Bowl. That's where I want to be," he said.

They went in 2005. Man up. Television (specifically ESPN who indulges in full-blown hero worship) have ruined these guys.

It's something behind the scenes that isn't being reported and hasn't been revealed by Chad or the Bengals. By the way the other players are talking to him on the interview shows, they seem to know more about what's going on but won't hint at the actual problem. It's something in-house, and even Housh seems to get it, but won't publicly take sides.

It's part of his schtick. Now that he doesn't have an opponent to trash for this coming weekend, and make big talk about how he's going to show them up, (making for great locker room postings, the idiot), he's decided to trash his team, and make big talk about how he's going to show them up.

His top plug is not connected to the cable that goes into the wall.

T.O. Jr.???Sure he is vocal but he is nothing like T.O. He is very vocal about always being open and wanting the ball but he's not ripping into his QB and coaches on the sideline. I think the Eagles have to be considered a legitimate contender to make a move for CJ after the way they reportedly went after Moss earlier this off season.

This is completely asinine. He has no opponent to talk trash to so he decided to trash his own team? C'mon, man. That is ridiculous.

We can debate the relative flaws of Moss and Ocho Cinco until the cows come home but the fact remains Chad is a healthy, Pro Bowl caliber receiver and the Eagles have moved heaven and earth to try to acquire that very thing this offseason DESPITE the T.O. debacle. And, not that any of us really know what goes on in these locker rooms, but last time I checked, Ocho Cinco didn't disappear and play SIGNIFICANTLY below his historical levels because his team was losing; and even his most ardent critics admit he's a committed worker and voracious studier of game film. Obviously there's very little likelihood that a trade for CJ and Lito happens, just too many variables. But I would put a lot of $$$$ down that Reid and Banner would be more than happy to acquire Chad for the right price.

No, he waits until they get into the locker room for halftime and then starts punching them.

CJ has always been constient... Moss was a wastefor 2 yrs in Oak. Moss is better, but CJ is still a top 5 talent. And u can not compare this guy to TO. I hope he gets out of there.. the rumor is that one team offered up 2 1st day picks; Cinny should take it.

Well, just a FYI, I know for a fact that the Eagles inquired about Johnson around the time that the Larry Fitz rumors started to die down. If he is indeed on the block, the Eagles will bid on him.

why isit always the WR's.....?

I know E. Smith sat out for awhile, but it always seems like the WR's.........

for a second lets just say it is some behind the scenes personality conflict with management that has now blown up into the media....what team wouldn't want o give up a third or even a second for that matter for a proven WR....hypothetical, but if you were to throw him in this draft where would he be picked all things considered....

If you want to compare TO and CJ... then you must also compare their desire to play well, put top stats, and win. As bad as TO is, you can not question his body of work.. and you can not question CJ's either. I never once heard of either take a play off.

CJ wants to win.. he want to be in the playoffs.. sometimes, you can't blame a guy for that.

Isn't CJ's agent Drew Rosenhaus? If so, then I seriously doubt the Eagles will be giving him a call.

:goodposting:You know they inquired about CJ, I posted that on the Eagles thread weeks ago.

Absorb the cap hit and trade this whiner. Doesn't seem like he's made any difference in them winning, 'cause they haven't been winning lately even though he puts up big (fantasy) numbers.......Get a reality check Chad, you are replaceable buddy and not worth all this headache. Mike B. needs to go see the Wizard of Oz to get some courage, and dump this cancer!.........

I read somewhere that a potential suitor has emerged and offered two first day picks (which means 2 of the top 63 picks) for CJ and were turned away by Cincy (at least for now).

2 first rounders? Could this be Dallas? Got to wonder.... :bag:ETA: nevermind, I missed the TWO FIRST DAY & called it 2 1st rounders- sorry.

Also does not have to be two picks form the same draft . . . so the team could be offering 2nd rounders from 08 and 09 for all we know.

I'll call that a total aberration. The Bengal's one good season is bookended by (almost) back-to-back 500 seasons on both ends. 2003 8-8, 2004 8-8, 2006 8-8 and 2007 7-9. Their defense is utterly terrible and they've just lost both Justin Smith and Madieu Williams with nothing to show for them. They've also lost two talented players (Steinbach and Rogers) to the Browns, a division rival. Their front office is a joke, at best. Chad seems to want to play for a winner, or at least a team who seems to be trying to win. The Bengals, in my opinion, don't fit that bill.

How can you ##### about not going to the playoffs when your sorry ### walks out of bounds on 4th down instead of busting your ### for a 1st? He's not about winning... I don't know who he's trying to kid.

There had been talk (mostly rumor and innuendo) a while ago that the Pats were interested in CJ in a package that involved their #7 overall pick. It would work for them because they would get out of having to spend a small fortune in bonus money to sign an unproven player.

Now this would certainly do nothing for the aging and somewhat depleted Pats defense, but they could average 40+ ppg with Johnson on that team. Moss-Johnson-Welker would result in video game scoring (although certainly would not gurantee a title by any stretch).

Is that why he's lobbied to not only play for the Raiders, but also the Dolphins this season? I'm not saying that there wasn't a little silly finger pointing going on at Chad during last season, but make no mistake about it, if the Bengals offered Chad an extension that made him more money, he'd get in line really fast. He's just been seeing some huge WR contracts go out the last 2 years.

The Pats are smarter than that. No way they put all that money towards the WR position.....

I'm not saying that if the Bengals gave him more money that it wouldn't shut him up. I'm saying that the Bengals aren't acting like they want to build a winner, although the two teams that you mentioned seem (to me, at least) to be building to win. The Raiders have gone out of their way to sign free agents this offseason in order to help their team (whether they picked the correct ones or not is another discussion) and the Dolphins have hired Parcells to turn their franchise around. The problem is this: the Bengals are doing the same-old, same-old that they always do and it's going to end them up in the same place -- about 8-8 or 7-9. Without Chad about 6-10.
