CJ Spiller Back For Week 13 (1 Viewer)

The talented rookie who had a strong training camp but otherwise dismal inaugural season marred by injury looks like he finally healthy enough to contribute. Anything there with Jackson looking so good of late? Any Buffalo Soldiers have an insiders view on what Gailey and the team has in store for him down the stretch?

As long as Jackson is performing like he is , Spiller is worth nothing i n Re_Drafts . Ofcourse if jackson got injured he would have value BUT that can be said for every backup. McFadden gets hurt , Bush has value , Foster gets hurt , Ward has value etc. Spiller isnt worth owning unless you have Jackson and want a handcuff.

Marred by injury? Other than the last 2 weeks he's been healthy non contributor AFAIK. I don't see him do any more than he was prior to getting hurt week 10 and I'm a Spiller owner.

Spiller's carries this year in reverse chronological order (not including the game he went out with injury):

7,6,7,5,2,4,1,7

I don't see that number going up markedly anytime soon, especially considering how well Fred Jackson has been playing.

Why do I feel like C.J. Spiller is the next Darren Sproles?
He could be in terms of production, but his draft position virtually ensures that he'll be given a much bigger role on offense than Sproles ever did. May not be until next year though.

that would be a colossal waste of the pick by buffalo if they use him this way.
Agreed, but it's not too far off from what Reggie Bush has been used, and despite Reggie's lack of touches, I don't think the team views him as a disappointment (barring the injury bug, of course). They still see him as a game changer, even if the fantasy stats don't show it.

My very bad mistake on the injury statement. I have not followed his season much if at all. I only have him in the subscriber contest and know he has delivered nil to date. Just seemed like he was hurt and I likely lumped him in a category with other rookie backs like Best and Mathews.

CJ Spiller, Javid Best, these guys are third down backs and kick returners. They are not nor will they ever be bell cow RBs. Every team wants the next Chris Johnson, but CJ is a totally different RB. CJ can run betwenn the tackles and push a pile. Spiller and Best get blown up between the tackles.

A little premature given how little we have seen both of them, especially considering CJ has and had a far superior O-line and team than the other two. That being said, I do agree that neither is the next CJ.
