Probably have to go up. The first month couple weeks or so will usually suck, because you are so under developed for your TH, and the loot penalty is so great on those bases that you used to roll, that it isn't worth the attack. You just have to power through the beginnings of the higher TH levels. I jump around in trophies until I find a sweet spot that matches my troops.

Eta- month may have been over estimating it, couple of weeks more like it.

I found that the area around 1400 was my initial sweet spot. I am always barching, so I found it a little tough to start getting huge returns until I upgraded to lvl 5 barch, but since then it's been very lucrative.

 
Finally made it to Master. Now I am just going to sit there and build for a while. Those last 100 trophies were a grind. Not very many town halls left outside the base, and I could only really attack TH10.

 
FBG1 17 attacks for 36 stars

Pinoy Disaster 11 attacks for 20 stars.

Keep it up and attack smart guys. They have more firepower than we do and tougher bases, we need to get every star we can. Not a fight for experimenting. We aren't going to be able to get a lot of 3 stars in their top 15 or so, so we have to make it count everywhere else.

 
Dad/Hawks64, I feel pretty good about taking their #12, but not very confident about higher than that. If you don't mind me taking him, can free you up for someone I can't handle.

 
DRAGON ATTACK TIP: Watch a dragon on an attack and you will see he has a shadow in the form of a little round dot a little to the south of him. That is his location, not where the body shows on the screen. If you drop a spell so it looks like it is covering his body, but the dot is outside of the spell's radius, it won't affect him. You can either find the dot, or just remember the dragon is actually a little bit south of where he shows on the screen.

Edit to add: The same is true for minions or healers.

Their number 1 guy honey potted me for 1 star. I figure that is a 2 star benefit to us as he probably could have 3 starred someone lower....

 
War so far:

Their top 20 has attacked 14 times for 22 stars.

Their 21-40 has attacked 14 times for 23 stars.

Their bottom 10 has attacked 11 times for 20 stars.

Our top 20 has attacked 20 times for 44 stars

Our 21-40 has attacked 19 times for 47 stars.

Our bottom 10 has attacked 7 times for 9 stars.

Currently we are up by 43 points (99-56) and we have only attacked 7 more times than they have. While they have 11 more attacks in the top 40 left than we do, it would take an amazingly concerted effort to lake up the lead we have gotten off to early on. Outperform attack numbers in the top 40 are great, and 21-40 are off the charts.

 
Busted my ### last night in sub200, used 40 gems to boost barracks and raided for 2 hours. 1.5m in gold/2m in elixir. Enough to start a tesla upgrade and a barrack upgrade to dragon. Most likely need to do this three of four more times before I'm ready to move up to TH8.

Boosted all 4? I usually only boost one. Lag time is minimal and keeps me well stocked with gobs. I'd think with 4 boosted you'd have some time where your camps are full most of the time no? Meaning you're not churning out gobs constantly if your camps are always full.

Pinoy: 59 attacks for 82 stars

I was running through gobs pretty quickly. Often with 10 - 15 still working when I would surrender under 50%. Maybe being a bit sloppy, but having more fun. Most of the time, coming back to base, I was at about 150/200 for camp. I would hit Attack at about 165-170 and go to work again.

The gold was more important to me than the elixir. Anytime I was breaking even on elixir (around 16000), I was happy with the raid.

 
I just 1 starred #10 with a dragon rush (lvl 2) Pretty decent odds a lvl 3 dragon rush gets another star. Watch my replay for the strat. (suggested by Greg)

 
ill try and get a 1 star on one of the top guys that hasn't been attacked. looks like we may have this one secured

Yeah, basically the idea is take out the buildings in the corners before deploying the main group of dragons so they funnel straight into the middle. Get the TH like coyote/dude did and hopefully stay alive long enough for 50% and a second star.

Someone with L3 dragons, I might drop like 1-2 dragons in each corner, maybe with the second a bit closer towards the middle so hopefully he goes back to the middle. Then the rest in the middle and rage away. A BK with rage might want to save to hit one of the remaining corners to try to pick up the 50%.

I have to say, I think this is probably the finest offensive effort in a war yet. We've had many wars with more stars, but the level of the defenses and how they have the stronger base at just about every spot along the rankings makes it damn impressive. Everyone from 14 on down is 3-starred, and we also have 3 stars on #12 and on 4 of their top 8.

Edit to add: Please no one do this in our own bases. I'm not entirely sure what he does even after watching the video, and it might have been fixed by today's update. Searching I found a number of these building glitches though the others were older and are clearly patched, as they involved stuff like clicking info while moving a building, and the info button isn't available now when doing that.

Can someone in FBG2 say in chat that we need 1 for war in FBG1? We're ready to start when we get someone.

I would do the lvl 9 barracks. It'll take a long time and a lot of elixer to build, but you can level a whole bunch of bases in these wars with a dragon rush.

Were it me, I'd upgrade gobs or giants, whichever you use more.

Until TH8 you won't be using DE troops really.

Agreed, gobs and giants are the priority here, but as I always say, lab upgrades require no builder, so you can do gobs + L9 barracks. It's just a matter of raiding the elixir. I don't see much point in the dark barracks at TH7 until after BK is unlocked. I'm not going to waste my time with it unless I am bursting at the seams with extra elixir.

 
It's a good point that dragons will help you more in war. Though gobs or giants would probably help you raid better so you advance faster. Not to discount war, but I'd probably get the gobs going first and then start the barracks upgrade next time around.

Gobs make gathering resources so much easier. The L4 gobs are SIGNIFICANTLY better than L3. Once I got the L4 gobs I found I used fewer gobs to the point where my camps are almost always full. Most raids for me are just 5-10 gobs and I can clear 10-20k in gold/elixir. Not sexy, but the resources are constantly flowing.

At TH8 I use exclusively L4 Gobs (and a few WB in the holster) for raiding sub 200, and L3 Dragons for war. I mean, I haven't cooked a giant, wizard or healer for a month probably. Once I get to TH9 I will probably have to figure out better raiding strategies, but that probably isn't happening until the end of this year.
