It only took 67 attacks to 3-star 50 bases. And I know one of those attacks was my honeypot.
I feel like we had 3 stars on something insane, like probably 95% or more of our actual trying attacks. WOW.

I had a fully loaded hog army getting ready to take down #9, even used 23 gems to finish it off in time, but Greg beat me to it. The result was an overkill attack on #46 with said army, 3 stars in 64 seconds.

Yes, there were 6 honeypots against #9 and at least one against #16 before Dad brought in the final stars. So really 60 attacks to reach it.

I didn't, I was focused on 18 but someone took that already too. And no worries, wasn't complaining, just thought it was funny I ended up using a bazooka to take out a low base, lol.

Well no wonder they're bad, they're prob too busy practicing/playing in the World Cup to get good at CoC. Don't blame them.

Unbelievable. After 3+ months supercell finally got back to me and said that my email "got lost in the system." They're offering to re-instate my old account still, which is great except for the fact that it's almost exactly where my replacement account, I had a few more upgrades on it like my BK and dark barracks, but I also was down at least a level on all of the collectors. Think I'm just sticking with my current account.

No. What I read when I submitted my recovery request was that emailing them wouldn't speed up the process. And yeah, it would have been nice if they offered a couple thousand gems or something to help make up for lost time a touch. Not much point in me changing back now. Boo.

I need to start doing some raiding to keep up with the costs of war. At TH9 what's the best strategy and troop makeup? Reading online there is no clear cut answer and I know we have a lot of TH9 and 10 guys. Below are my troop lvls.

I'm TH8 and there isn't anything else I'd rather spend the DE on after lvl 4 hogs, so I'll probably keep bumping the BK up at least until TH9 when I can get lvl 5 hogs and the AQ.

I'm going to try and get it to 10 while I wait for some normal lab elixer stuff to finish up. If I needed DE for anything else I'd stay at 5.
But reddit posted an interesting post about whether it was worth it to go past 5 on either of them and they pretty much said it wasn't.

Hope so - I'd like to be 100% certain myself.
Like being able to generate Valks & Wizards ahead of time (in down time when I'm away or on the road) so that when the magical button is pushed we can start filling CC's

I started doing all dragon rushes for gold when i hit that point... I wish I'd concentrated more on DE than gold though.

same. just finished ad and tesla upgrades so i just hit the road to TH8 last night. i do have some collector and wall upgrades left, but i got bored with TH7 and the TH upgrade is 8 days so I should be at least done with the walls by the time it completes. More importantly I hated seeing my lab be idle for so long, complete normal non-DE upgrades a week ago and don't have enough DE to upgrade anything.

Do the updates! I went the opposite route and have looked at the last week or so as time off with the ability to just farm/attack as I want. I'll have both elixir & gold maxed when the th8 upgrade completes tomorrow night. I can't imagine going into 8 with upgrades hanging from th7.
The lab upgrades are a much bigger bottleneck at TH8 than builder time. If your maxed out your TH7 unit upgrades and are pretty close on the buildings, I'd definitely pull the trigger on TH8 and keep the lab running as close to nonstop as possible.

response...Those charts don't look like they were put together in a way that captures the issues that need to be considered. For example, a big part of the changes were differences in the hero's special ability, such as that the special ability now heals the hero.
If you want to truly compare before and after the update you need to take that into account, and the health chart if it included it should show a distinct jump at level 5 for new but not old. That it shows a smooth curve is telling me it doesn't take that into account.
Also, the differing number of extra units summoned by the special abilities should probably be included since that truly is the DPS you gain from using the hero. The charts are smooth at level 5 so don't include it.
I'd also add, trying to come up with whether this is +EV or -EV is not at all like it is for say, level 5 wizard vs level 6 wizard. With wizards, it costs you 500 elixir more per wizard per raid. So if you use 10 every raid at cost of an extra 5k elixir, you need to gain on average resources that with L5 wizards you would have failed to gain, which you consider equal in value to 5k elixir (could be gold and could be DE which you value more, could even be trophies and war stars I suppose).
With heroes though, there is no per attack resource cost to using him that needs to be equated. If I spend 25k DE to upgrade a BK to 7, as long as the improvements to him give earn me an additional amount of resources over the rest of my days/months/years playing the game, then it's a +EV move. If I do 1 raid and quit the game after the upgrade, it's -EV. If his improvements mean I get the equivalent of 20 more DE on average per raid, and I raid 1250 more times with him before I quit playing, then I broke even.
Of course we also would factor in how much resources he would save you in defense with the higher stats, which wouldn't include his ability.
Actually, what may drive the worth of ugprading a hero could be the downtime of the hero sleeping off damage. If it causes you to raid less often, or to raid without him where without the upgrade you would have had him, that could be a humongous change in the rate you're earning resources. If you raid rarely enough where he's always finished healing long before you would have attacked again at any level then it's not affecting you. But I know I either sit and wait for him to heal, reducing my total number of raids, or else go without him. And there are times I may whiff on big pay days because I didn't make it to the storages and I probably would have with him. (Edit to add: Though this really wasn't changed by the update, it might have been the bigger question no one ever addressed originally.)
I don't know how it all plays out when you factor all of that in together. I'd probably still prioritize getting them to 5, but would probably hold off after that, saving my DE for troop upgrades of troops I actually would be using. Once none of those remained though, I imagine that improving heroes isn't +EV assuming we continue playing the game for a long time. Again, unless the extra downtime healing off damage drives things where you raid less or have enough extra raids without him that it drives things.
