I forsee jump + combo of PEKKAs, Valks, and or Wiz with rage spells gonna be the wave of the future. I'm going to experiment soon with Jump replacing Freeze in my lineups since I raged PEKKAs can two shot infernos, no longer need to freeze them, just rage passed them. Also multi target infernos barely tickle PEKKAs.

 
I don't get how we keep walking into uber clans with high TH10s and those guys don't show up, or when they do are totally inneffective going way below level, or just plain screwing up.

Is masters/crystal this weak with crap players?

No joke. That replay was a glimpse into the future. Problem with valks is they can still be springed. Nobody likes to see 70DE flying off the screen in a flat spin.

Come in from the left side (The DE store side) and when the CC releases drop 3 light on the L5 AA there. That should damage several troublesome buildings all at once.

Got perfect tracking, perfect lightning spells on their CC and still couldn't get more than 1 star with all L3 drags.

 
Stage 3: 5 hours left and their top bases have troops queued up with hogs and dragons. if they decide to come this is not over. Granted they have to be near perfect to catch up, there are plenty of stars left to be had on our side.

I saved these for last. Lowish ROI compared to other towers at that level. Wiz gets such a giant boost at TH8 needs to be top priority.

Yup. Only teslas are lower ROI, which are up next for me, then I'll be done with TH8 except for unit upgrades.

im with you, teslas, archers to 10 and 2 ad to 6. Unfortunately, my teslas are all below 5. Might be a while before my jump to th9
 
If Boog needs more I'll come over. I'm fine making room for some of the new guys that want to go 3x a week. These BK upgrades are cramping my war style.

 
I like teslas for war because they are hidden. More of a chance to screw up an attacker, especially if they are leveled higher than the rest of your base.

 
The other clan is going to run into the issue where some of their top guys have two attacks. If they don't launch soon their spells won't recharge in time to re-rack.

Very few of them have just 1 attack remaining in the top 20. Most have 2 left and can be assumed to be inactive.

And lots of stars are cleanups at this point.

I won't be coming back to the boog for the next war (not that anyone was holding a spot anyway) - just turning to th8 tomorrow night so getting built up.

 
Am I crazy that I'm considering instead of TH9 first upgrades being Lab, Spell Factory, and 2nd DE Drill... instead delaying the Lab and upgrading my existing DE Drill to level 4?

I'd suggest delaying the spell factory upgrade if you want the DE drill that bad. The reason is when you first get to TH9 you're still raiding with TH8 level armies but you take the TH9 loot penalty hit. To power through having spells helps a ton. Also DE is a lot easier to loot as you move up, something to keep in mind.

I'd still go lab first, you'll want those unit upgrades ASAP.

Some of my worst memories was getting to TH10 and going through that first week of TH10 raiding without spells...FML.

I'd put off the spell factory before the lab. Because who cares about Jump, and you'll just miss out on that extra spell for a few days.

You can't get back the days you'll miss on troop upgrades.

 
I was actually thinking now that Jump is map-wide, getting to it quickly would be a boon in raiding. Not to mention just having a 4th spell to use.

 
This war has been a pretty unsatisfying one. Lots of open bases, boring clan against.

For the first time the +5 strategy really didn't work very well. Their middle section was pretty tough. Lots of TH8s that pumped their ADs up to lvl 4 and 5. Dragon rushes weren't terribly successful.

This really makes the case for fighting below our rank though. If we tried to match our +0 every time we would have 1 and 2 stars all over the place.

Man I freaking love having a DE drill. No more carrying lightning spells just in case I stumble on a DE storage with some in it. Raiding is so much more fun for me with heal spells and barching villages that look like they should tear me to shreds.

 
That was a boring war. We didn't go *great* but at the same time, it never felt like it was in contention.

So I have about 1.5M elixer stored up and my lab is about to free up. Should I upgrade barbs to lvl4 and then my spell factory after tomorrow's war, or probably wait until tonight and get to 2M so I can upgrade my dragons to lvl 2 for next week's war?

Barbs first if you use barch, otherwise dragons IMO.

Don't have five lightnings :( Just a base full of dragons. He has all that elixir and no DE Barracks. Thought that was strange.

I do think OTX was right about a matchmaking shift. We are getting more organized clans since the update and clans with alot of wins. We beat 3 clans since the update which have had 60 wins and 3 losses between them before we rolled on the scene.

Even with the shift there really has only been one challenge.
