Clash of Clans (Official thread) (3 Viewers)

Boog has lots of room, right? I'd like to war, but also to be in a clan with my brother (about to finish TH7) so I can dump him troops. As long as he can join after the declaration, I'm game.

 
My 2nd TH4 war was against a clan with a TH10 and TH5. A majority of my troops and defenses at the time were level 1. And it doesn't take long to find a match, under 10 minutes.

(Was so hoping that TH10 would have thrown me a bone and let me honeypot)

 
If I've not moved out of Quatro before the war Saturday night, go ahead and kick all 3 accounts. Probably won't be around to do much more than empty collectors occasionally for a few days.

 
Culdeus...for your study on war rankings, u should come to Honda and check out my profile and yankass. Despite me having better troops his bomb upgrades result in him being ranked higher. Both our defenses and walls are maxed.

Yeah. Bombs are a factor. That one cannon clan I was in didn't think so it must count for something. Big bombs count a lot. I'm certain of that. Maybe air bombs a little too

I watched a bunch of those this morning. Amazing what they are doing, so much so I'm taking a pack of lvl4 hogs with me in my other clan. I have seen the light and I believe...I BELIEVE! Hog's Not Dead!!

 
If you can accurately predict double big bombs and strategize to miss them, hogs are no different than they were

They are also going as high as +12 for some of their attacks.

 
What's the story FBG1? Are we just laying down like a bunch of Nancies? (No offense to anyone named Nancy, I'm sure you are a great person)

Did we quit when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Do you not have any souls!?!

 
I sort of predicted the return of hogs when all these hive bases got so popular. Was just a matter of time till we ran into some hog experts. And I don't think they were sand boxing. They gave a blueprint to beat eclipse and ringus that we need to save. Deadly to those style.

 
Adaptations needed. Th9 go back to white out with central aa and double bigs with lots of open space. Give up,the 2 not the 3.

Even as a TH8, this is my goal. Its pretty much impossible to keep from giving up two, but I like to make it real hard to be three starred. At this point in my base's development, it takes a TH9 to three star me.

 
My base did a pretty solid job. Tends to give up two stars to a max GoWiXx, but anything less than that is stopped, cc tough to lure, hard to guess where double GBs are, etc. #21 FBGs.

My TH8 fell to Hogs and Dragons, it had double BB and was built to stop that with CC troops aimed at stopped a Goxxxx....what's the best war base design for me to look at?

Maybe so. It wasn't just us, this is the first clan in 15+ wars that are extensively using hogs on us. The last time I can remember were the Texas Pig Farmers. Luckily, they sucked. These guys are all-pro and I wonder if some of their 100+ wins are on unsuspecting clans, like us, that have fully converted to bases that have no hog-rings.

 
Did this clan have more or less evenly upgraded troops and just decided to hog it up this war, or were there clues in their profiles that the hog rush was coming?

I'm wondering if it's even worth trying to predict how a clan may attack based on their profiles? That's what I'm trying now.

Was wondering the same. Most of their top guys have Lv1 Golems so they must be hogging most of the time.

fbgs stopped hogging months ago. I lived on hogs for a while.

Lot of clans have recetly gone anti-gowi** - our opponenets this war have definitely taken advantage of that with the swine.

 
Something I never realized regarding attack range.

Wizards have an attack range of 3.

Archers have an attack range of 3.5.

Witches have an attack range of 4.

I'm not sure what this means, yet, but I think putting 2 spaces between outside walls and buildings might be a good anti-GoWiWi strategy.

Why?

Because witches can attack those buildings*, but they have to move right up against the wall. Any summoned skeletons will be in equal range of the building firing back. Better chance for it to target the witch, and it may actually prioritize them as targets since they are actively damaging the defensive building*. Wizards/Archers cannot attack the building in this setup*, so they either (1) stay back and attack walls or (2) go around.

Just spit-balling here, and further research is needed.

* These statements may be true or false.

I mentioned it in clan chat early this morning but is there any reason we can't turn the attack back on them for round 2? Lord knows we have plenty of guys with L5 hogs and I know I saw plenty in that group hogging with L4's. Haven't been in all day so pardon if already discussed.

It does splash damage. Watch the surrounding buildings when one dies.

I use hounds often and never noticed the death splash before. You are right -- there is something. ETA: I watched closely in one attack where my L2 hound died just as it arrived over its 2nd target, a L6 AA. When the L2 hound died, the bar over the AA dropped about 1/6 (1050 hp to start), so my guess is in the 150-200 hp range

If you're down to walls and bombs, upgrade both with what makes sense based on how much golf you have :shrug:

I upgraded the bombs, but that's mostly out of my OCD and not any real use.

Same here. That upgrade button staring at me every time I clicked on a bomb would drive me insane.
