Early indications are they squashed the TH9 range down to just 15. Holy ####. That's absolutely insane and a earthshattering change. Max everything, immediately, yesterday. TH10 range they dropped to 20 which isn't that big a deal. To get that last 5 pounds you had to be damn near 40/40 all max walls.

That the TH11 range is 20 and all they got was an xbow and the eagle means that eagle thing weighs a #### ton.

We'll wait for you to translate this into English.

The matchmaker are going to treat all TH9 the same, more or less. The range is so small there won't be a way for inside TH9 for the system to really distinguish them. Previously, the range was large enough that you could artificially deflate your war weight to decrease the chances of drawing a completely max TH9 while having a small chance of getting a TH8. This was more effective in larger clan war sizes than smaller where there are more clans searching.

If true this does mean TH8s going to TH9 can now go to town building and upgrading xbows and witches if the gap between a new TH9 and a max TH9 becomes minimalized. Makes sense since the assumption was TH10 becomes the new TH9, Infernos and TH10 offensive upgrades become more a factor in matchmaking.

Tell me what you want me to do boss. Max my xbows? Go to TH10? Max walls. Lemme know. Thanks

maxing xbows is priority as a TH9 now imo. btw we never advocated not upgrading them, just waiting until your offense was upgraded enough to do real damage to TH9 opponents. Others pretty much debunked this earlier anyway even before the update, it was just the way I chose to play.

I don't plan on going max on walls, all legos is what i'm aiming for if i ever decide to go to th10. I don't really plan on going to th10, i have tough enough time at th9 in wars (I only play for war as you already know) and i would hate Honda wars to turn into FBGS wars. it's way too hard and often not fun to know you really can't add much to the party. but i said i'd never have multiple accounts, never will buy gems, never will go to th9, etc. etc.

as expected i am losing more loot every time shield expires without the free shield possiblity, but not nearly as much as i would have tought. also as expected i'm gaining more per attack and i would think the latter will not be short lived with so many more people being without shield more often. twice today already i logged in to find myself under village guard and was able to gain enough on an attack to cover whatever i'll probably lose before a shield. it's complicated, but so far i think i like it. just gotta remember to have a full raiding army around all the time though.

I haven't had issues yet but I see what people are up in arms for.

This is the way I understand it, too. The VG is only handy to me if you, for example, are close to enough resources for a big purchase and waiting for a spell to finish so you can do that last raid. Your phone blips. With VG, you can get back in before you are available to be attacked.

PBT and VG and cumulative online counter (with no visible counter of course) is just overly complex at this point for this type of game.

From what I have seen, there is a lot more loot but you need the army to get it.

I have been rolling with a cheaper army but seeing more bases with 300+ of each I will be changing that.

I still think the casual players can come out ahead in this scenario, just not with a barch/cheap army. They will need to be hitting these better bases and getting more loot with each attack.

Got hit during my first timeout, but the guy used his entire army and didn't hit 30%. He tried to hog me, but it failed badly.

I think that should count as a "real" defense*, but since he missed the 30% threshold, I was given a 15 minute Guard and was booted again at the end of it.

*I think they need to add an upper army % threshold so that if the attacker deploys all, or nearly all, of his army, it counts as a valid attack, regardless of % destroyed.

ETA: Just tried to hop back on, and have a 30 minute Guard again. No idea if I can stay on or not. These mechanics are very confusing.

You used to look at one storage, multiply by four, and add 1 to get the value. What tam is suggesting is that now you would multiply by 5 instead, since the TH has the same capacity as each of your storages.

Not real sure. As far as I know it was suppose to be three hours and that clock doesn't reset if you are only offline for five minutes and come back on.Having said that, I got home tonight at 6:45 est and just got the boot at 9:00 est. In that time I cleaned out my car/wiped clear the inside windshield, pretty confident I was outside for more than five minutes here. Did a raid on the Yoga account (same device), pretty sure was there longer than five minutes as well.

So in short, who knows.

Just to add. I got in my car at roughly 6:00 est and checked the score to see if I needed to configure an appropriate army for a th10 attack. Proceeded on a 40 minute drive which I certainly wasn't clashing during but apparently the game thinks I was.

First thing is the army comp. 17 Wiz is just too many. They die so quick and provide no tanking value compared to witches. Ditch 9 of them and take witches. I only take 6 Wiz/4 witches but it probably didn't make much of a difference between 3 or 4 witches. I also prefer 2 heal and a rage. Raging your opening squad takes out AQ/CC and a bunch more D that much quicker and leave less ground to cover for your pigs.

Entrance/Jump was in the wrong spot. It only opened up 2 compartments for your Golems and didn't clear any DBB spots. If you WB in right from 12 and drop the jump right on that archer tower, you open up the entire inside of the base and get your Golems/witches into the two most logical DBB spots.

Splitting the Golems is a no-no. Get them in the middle.

From there its where you bring the hogs in. I usually have two spots that I plan to bring hogs in from depending on where the Golems go. The path you clear with your open should give the hogs a clear track around the outside of the base.

So PBT starts at 3 hrs and counts down your online time when you do not have a shield or active village guard.

BUT it only resets once you have been offline for 30 minutes or get a shield.

So say you play for 1hr log off for 15 minutes (don't get attacked) then log in, you only have 2 hrs left until you are forced off. And there is no in game timer value for you to see so good luck guessing If you have reset the counter.

I mean cleanup as in a second hit. If you know all gbs then witches are typically arent needed and you can disarm the gbs with the extra hogs

IMO, witches get stronger the more you have.

And if DBB are in the center of a base, its easier to get witches there than it is to get a pair of hogs. Also, your hogs will be dead while your witch will live if the skellies trigger it.

CliffReally trying to emulate you. Can you please take a look at my attack on their 23 and critique it? I'm really starting to lose my mind here with hogging

First thing is the army comp. 17 Wiz is just too many. They die so quick and provide no tanking value compared to witches. Ditch 9 of them and take witches. I only take 6 Wiz/4 witches but it probably didn't make much of a difference between 3 or 4 witches. I also prefer 2 heal and a rage. Raging your opening squad takes out AQ/CC and a bunch more D that much quicker and leave less ground to cover for your pigs. Entrance/Jump was in the wrong spot. It only opened up 2 compartments for your Golems and didn't clear any DBB spots. If you WB in right from 12 and drop the jump right on that archer tower, you open up the entire inside of the base and get your Golems/witches into the two most logical DBB spots.

Splitting the Golems is a no-no. Get them in the middle.

From there its where you bring the hogs in. I usually have two spots that I plan to bring hogs in from depending on where the Golems go. The path you clear with your open should give the hogs a clear track around the outside of the base.

Why witches on the cleanup? That's usually a first hit comp.

Witches aren't on cleanup; they go with the Golems to the core. Funnel with the 5-6 wiz (depending how many WBs are needed), get the witches in there.I don't take save anything for a cleanup crew. Successful runs have plenty left to cleanup. Haven't had a clock failure with that comp yet.

I mean cleanup as in a second hit. If you know all gbs then witches are typically arent needed and you can disarm the gbs with the extra hogs

1 witch >>> 2 hogs and a WizIMO, witches get stronger the more you have.

And if DBB are in the center of a base, its easier to get witches there than it is to get a pair of hogs. Also, your hogs will be dead while your witch will live if the skellies trigger it.

Center dgb can be worked around by deployment typically. I'm actually trying to pick up enough to get going hogs at th10 so I try to keep up on the discords and other sessions. Th10 rarely has dgb so that's nice.

That's just more moving parts which brings a higher chance of failure. Witches and Golems do a much better job of clearing them and you don't lose troops.

I'm now taking my sweet ### time at TH9 because of the lack of hog opportunities at TH10. GoWiPe bores the hell out of me and I suck at laloon.

I think a m4x walking hog has hope at th10 with the new dark. Any spread out type bases.

crunching the numbers, I don't see how I can make it work. I'm used to barch and a more expensive army will cut into my profits. and like I said, I don't have time to be farming as much anymore. I'm at work all day and asleep at night. that leaves a few hours every day and I'm not going to spend them farming when I have more important things to be doing.

just seems like this last update is going to eliminate a lot of casual players like me. you can't advance in the game unless you're willing to spend a couple hours a day at a minimum farming. no thanks. I'll just go find a new game to play for 15-30 minutes here and there.

I'm in the same position. I've barely been playing, just running goblin/Earthquake attacks every once in awhile. It doesn't look like I can do that anymore without plummeting in trophies because I usually would take out an exposed TH, then get all the DE. Now I think every attack will be a loss.

I pushed the TH11 button just because I had the gold and figure it'll be something new. Not worried about screwing up war weights because I'm not warring. But it doesn't look like casually farming is going to be a thing anymore.

Am I misunderstanding the pbt. Do you get that if you are on for three hours or is there another way to get it

So PBT starts at 3 hrs and counts down your online time when you do not have a shield or active village guard. BUT it only resets once you have been offline for 30 minutes or get a shield.

So say you play for 1hr log off for 15 minutes (don't get attacked) then log in, you only have 2 hrs left until you are forced off. And there is no in game timer value for you to see so good luck guessing If you have reset the counter.

The "...have been offline for 30 mins" part doesn't seem to work the way we think. Like SMN said, he was offline doing other stuff (driving, detailing his car, etc) yet he still gets "coc blocked" ( i just made that up...totally gonna use that on SC forum).
