Attacking in general has gotten tougher over the last 24 hrs

Warden ability range reduced

Xbow, Inferno, Mortar buffs.

And heroes don't trigger traps.  That's a really underrated TH9 difficulty increase.  

Valks are beyond OP. Use them while you can.  Hogs are the new TH11 meta.  Hogs under a L17 warden can survive a DGB.  Not sure they thought that thru.

I'm in a failed war, but in a fun change we actually drew a dutch  :(  FPC clan which was featured on OneHive hitchiker and are well known. Anyways, that's set to end about 6:30CST tomorrow but there is sure to be a delay for maint. break as well soon.


Long story short I'm at 990 war stars.  I would, with consensus, like to get 1000 with you guys.  I'd also invite some of my meta friends to join me (again, with permission).  

I still consider you guys my home, and would love to make this work somehow. And if I fail, it will be a huge LOL moment.

It's a late start, but like I said mods are ####ed right now and maybe forever and it might be a chance to get some revenge on some asians.

With a new update we need to list the hidden changes again! Here's what I know of so far, let me know if you find more:

-Air defense skins (all levels) updated
-Player info button next to experience bar updated
-BK and AQ altar skins updated
-Dark elixir is now included in the shop in cubical vials
-Army camp, torch, barracks (level 9), and dragon fire animations updated
-Archer death sound updated
-Valkyrie sound updated
-Spoils of War achievement renamed to Treasurer
-Pictures on info pages of structures updated
-Plus button removed from builder display after unlocking 5 builders
-Shield info page updated
-Visual appearance of tabs within menus updated
-Clan tag location moved
-Replay interface updated
-Locked clan perks have a new dotted line around them
-Heroes seem to no longer trigger traps (this is likely a bug)
-War attacks can be watched live at any point during the attack
-Remaining war attack icon updated
-Clan info icon color darkened
-Clan level search parameters widened to level 15
-Healer effectiveness on heroes may have been increased from 50% to 70% (this is a confirmed bug which will be fixed soon)
-Heroes now have noticeable space around them in the deployment bar
-Goblin level 6 upgrade time decreased from 10 days to 8 days
-Required troop deployment for granting shields lowered from 33% to 25% (speculation)

(A hidden change is any change not mentioned in the announcement thread found here)

Loot cart lists amounts of gold, elixir, de neatly prior to collecting, rather than the numbers exploding into the air and not knowing how much you received.

 
I really like the timer on the prep screen.  I don't see that listed on there unless it's sort of obtusely mentioned in the bucket of one of the above.

 
Valks are massive post update. I'm a 9.5 currently with big heros (AQ33/BK30) and I just leveled a max th10 using queen walk with 1 golem, 6 giants, 13 lvl 4 valks and some wiz for funnel/cleanup. Those valks under rage shredded the center of the base. It was unreal how fast the center went down. It can't possibly last for a long time. All you need to do is send in some tanks, get the CC, enemy queen(not sure if you even need to worry about the enemy queen), then drop valks and watch the carnage.

Sure to be nerfed soon.

Yeah, like I said we saw a guy in a FPC heal the grass twice on a GoVaHo into a max base and still got 3 with a lot of time to spare.  There's one thing for certain they completely miscalculated the DPS increase at the same time as the targeting fix. They just needed to do one or the other.  The only small consideration you have is they are now so strong they can out run your heroes leaving them to just stand around in the back cleaning up trash.

No idea why they cut 35&45. Why not 40 and see where that leaves things? 35 seems to me to be the most common size I see in logs. Gives you head room and space for some optouts. 

 
Ok, and in even bigger news.  It appears coc did patch the ability to use trap locations on replays, so the days of the one barb drops are likely over. 
We checked this out last night in Honda and we can see traps on the replay. So I assume this means something other than what I think it means. Would like to understand this.

There is seeing them and using them. Now, they won't explode for sandboxes. There is some lines of code that people are pointing out that specifically attack mods at their root effectiveness

 
State of modding as it stands.  SC has done us all a huge solid.  They have blocked the ability for at least unexploded traps and CC to come out on sandbox replays.  This means that the days of the barb drop clans is now over.  You must at least expose all the bombs/traps in order to use them for further sandboxing.  

This, I think, is the endgame.  I don't think they can make any further attacks on modders and this will lead to an equilibrium of sorts.  

At the same time they have made it such that "live" attacks do not show traps or bombs either.  This is also nice, but sort of a whatever.

Yes, you can "practice" deployment but if this was sufficient for modders you wouldn't see them barb dropping so openly and risk (lol) a ban.  

 
Also initial reviews of the base weight restructure is strange.  I don't really think the weights are what I expected at all.  I added 1 from the prior war.  I expected to see people with underleveled infernos to drop 3 or 4 and this didn't happen.  

9.5 though dropped weight significantly while 10.5 gained weight.  

All told I think the weight change was mostly a non event except to fix what they screwed up with TH11 weights.  And I don't see anything to suggest 9.5 took a nerf.  If anything it got the biggest buff of all.

 
Matchmaking changes have been brutal for our group.  The last two clans we've matched against are monster crews we're just not equipped to handle.

That makes sense in what happened to us.  We ALL have underweight heroes.  I have 15/15 as the top dog, the next guy has 10/10.  The TH9s after that average out to 8/5, and the BK's of our TH8s are all around 8.  We are getting annihilated. 

 
Who would think it is a good idea to remove hero weight? Are the developers in 5th grade?  
I think they get far too much of their feedback from their forums.  Back to what I think they were going for was to eliminate the pink wall war mismatches and put the bases with max inferno and TH8 level defense out of range of a TH9 as well as make the top 5 bases count the most.  

They probably took a scrape of the clans and said that war search time would be on the 2-3 hours if they didn't remove a few variables. Since everyone's offense is more or less the same, with the exception of heroes, and who needs heroes right? They took offense basically out of the equation and heroes got caught in that crossfire. Heroes apparently had an offense and a defense weight.  By reducing the offense weight by all accounts 80% the already insignificant weight that heroes gave to offense was defacto eliminated.  

They simply don't have a clue what it takes to execute at a high level.  

 
They should just do something simple like create a Chess-style ELO rating for each clan.  After a few weeks of wars everyone would be rated about right and you'd have consistently close wars.  And those could update in real time as well after each war.  What they're doing now is overly complicated.

This could be epic. will be stacking our deck with some insane heroes.  I hope we do get modders with some stupid high win streak.  

 
Just a few weeks/months ago weren't you talking about modders not being a big deal and gave no real advantage? Maybe I'm misremembering...I'm too lazy to go back and look.
Yeah, but they just patched their biggest advantage.  The whole replay thing they need to trip th10s and live traps for TH9s.  They didn't have that replay thing until roughly what? November?  The live traps was earlier, maybe September.

It's about as level a playing field that will ever present itself.  

 
Level 4 valks have had 300HP removed in the last 7 days.  That's sort of a lot.
So they nerfed valks after their buff? Which paying customer #####ed to the dev squad on Wednesday because he didn't have the foresight to upgrade his valks past lvl2 at th11?

 
Between the 3 40/40/20s can't this be a perfect war? Is there really a second base that represents a base that can't be tripped easily other than 1?
