But this doesn't really address the core issue in the game right now which is 10/10 balance.  If anything it's slightly worse with a buff to wiz towers overall and a new th10 wiz tower level.  

The objective might be to just pull th11 so far away from 10 that they can then address it at that time.

There are more than a year of labs at th10 and they want to make you forget about it because they don't want to risk causing more clouds.

The buffs to loons, drags, pekkas, witches, poison and CC items (Golem/Hogs) more than offset the slight DPS increase from Wiz towers. It may not be balanced yet but it is a step in the right direction.

With the exception of loons those are mostly niche 3 star troops.  TH9 level loons will get ####### rekt by th11 wiz towers and you would still want to take a hound/loon cc anyway for the hound.  I can't imagine wanting to run a super old school CB laloon, but maybe.  It will make 11/10 hits substantially easier, however.

I don't have data in front of me, but it seems like 10v10 3-stars are more common than 11v11s.

 
Balloons attacking sooner is huge.
Again, the wiz towers will have them in the red before they get a shot off.  If they push max loons down to th10 maybe this helps.  This really is a boost at th11 and th9 assuming max wiz towers aren't just insane.  I would perhaps even call this a nerf to th10 air.

 
I agree I don't see anything that helps 10 vs 10. Maybe that is coming in the sneak peeks? Seems unlikely though. 
From what I gather they let all the sneak peek content out today, the sneak peaks to be released later will just to hype and explain a little more but the entire content of the update is out now.

 
The great news is that hogging 10s as an 11 is going to get easier  :porked:

Maybe that will end bully bowler spam.

It takes a really, really bad base for a max 10 to be 3* by another 10.

Edit: Our hit rate with max 11s vs max 10s is probably only 50%.
CWL tracks these stats.  

10v10 3 star rate is <25% in real wars and really closer to 11% overall, and last I checked there had been just 1 11v11 3 star ever and it was spamtastic luck box type stuff.  11v10 is in that 50% range also vs. good bases but the better clans execute those at a much higher rate.  The update is going to cause some headache as those 11/10 become much easier.

That was the last time they put these stats out, probably kept somewhere but too lazy to look.  I can't imagine things have changed much.  

 
Hasn't been mentioned but dragons got a engagement buff also.  
It's fascinating that someone who is retired from the game is still so active in this thread and is current on all the inside stuff going on within the game. And I mean that is the sincerest way possible.

Any chance you'd come back to FBG's with your main with the upcoming air buff?  War only and bully some 6* air attacks on 10's. Just play casually if you're really not into it anymore?

TH11

  • Barbarian King levels 41-45
  • Archer Queen levels 41-45
  • Clan Castle level 7
  • Golem level 6
  • Hog Rider level 7
  • Poison Spell level 5
  • Wizard Tower Level 10 (Level 9 will become available at Town Hall 10)
  • Wall level 12 (TH11: max 50 pieces)
The Clan Castle Level 7 does not offer more troop space, but it will allow regular Elixir Spell donations (like Freeze Spell, Rage Spell etc.)!

Along with these new levels, there will be some changes to the current ones:

  • Poison Spell radius slightly increased
  • Witch damage and hitpoints increased
  • Balloons attack after reaching their target slightly sooner
  • Dragon attack speed increased (DPS is unchanged)
  • P.E.K.K.A attack speed increased (DPS is unchanged)

Upgrade Discounts (time and/or cost):


  • Barbarian King levels 31-40
  • Archer Queen levels 26-40
  • Wall levels 10-11
  • Wizard Tower levels 3-9
  • Clan Castle levels 5-6
  • Hog Rider (all levels)
  • Golem (all levels)

Other Updates:


  • New 15m and 30m options for Friendly War challenges
  • Clan Mail cool down reduced from 12h to 1h
  • Better organized Builder Suggestions

My (rather careful) predictions are that PEKKA, Golem & Witches will take over the meta in the next months and air attacks will work way better with Balloons dropping their packages faster. If you’re currently saving up some Dark Elixir for upgrading Bowlers, you should really save that for the next Golem or Witch upgrade instead.

I’m really stoked about the new events and I think the upgrade discounts will be something many of you will like!

Maybe when the cwl closes up.  Right now it is being used part time on the roster for Midwinters when they need a 4th or 5th 11 and cwl is funny about moving accounts around. 

Midwinters is red hot lately. 

And taz is farming it for now at least. So that's nice.

Haven't even logged in. Its weird. Just haven't felt the need to.  I sort of signed my account over for the moment till the cwl is over. And I don't even know when that is.  Might farm a bit from the deer stand but I think taz already has me going on most of it. Maybe.

22 Bowlers, 3 LH, 5 WB, 5 Bowlers

CC = 5 Bowlers, Fur, Rage

2 Rage, 2 Freeze, 1 Haste

Send Kill Squad (CC Bowlers, Reg Bowlers, 5 WB, AQ, BK & Warden into AD that's near AQ. Rage and Warden ability early. These 10 bowlers along with AQ, BK, & Warden do serious damage under rage & warden ability. Goal is to take out AD, AQ - Inferno & CC are a bonus.

Once KS does its job send in Hounds & Loons.

Strong 3 star attack strategy at TH11.

This update is one of the best they have ever had, Air is back big time

 
correct - meant 22 skulls

mght bring it down to 20 skulls - freeing up space for either baby drag or some wiz to help funnel KS into base

Yep. Skulls attack A LOT faster when getting to a D now. Like, twice as fast. Not really a need for rage with them anymore. Just pepper the base with haste and a freeze or two.

 
Got to war with Midwinters in a decent war.  Someone there gemmed all the 11 stuff to max that matters and got 6 th11 stars on good bases.  They weren't really anti air with some down bows and stuff but still strong

I basically yoloed two 11 on 10 hits and swagged two spells on the first one and didn't have a single hound pop on the second. Nearly blew the second but loons cleanup fast enough to save my ###.

9 on 9 seems a bit stupid now.  10 on 10 seems as hard as ever. 

The extra spell at 11 doesn't seem necessary and can make for some funny fc. (6 hound rest loons and 2 clones was epic lol)  Someone at mw says next update th9 gets the th10 air d and 11 gets a new air d level so enjoy it whole you can. 

Seems like a good update but for high level war they need to maintain something resembling balance at th9 and give some balance to th10.  Its just so hard to do that.
