Classic cars (2 Viewers)

Little younger than what Sheik is talking about, but saw a Dodge Magnum this weekend. Only produced for 3 years in the early 2000s.
I know people loved that car, but I never understood it. A souped up station wagon.
didn't Honda make some kind of turbo-charged, fast as a motorcycle, pickup truck? I guess it looked kind of cool, and went really fast... I just wondered what the point was? Gotta get that load of plywood to the jobsite STAT.

Remembered another, (my memory is gone!) in the mid 90s, my dad (who to this day is dying for a two-seater) was able to convince my mother to let him by a Nissan Pulsar NX. Fun car with a t-top and pop up headlights. Plus you had the ability to add one of these if you wanted to!! ;)

Forgot about that car. When I was 19, my GF had one of those. We had secs in the back. It was not as cool as we thought it was going to be, and even in my teenage years, I ended up pulling a muscle in my back.

googled it... GMC Typhoon.

What about the Subaru SVX?

Known as the car with windows in the windows. Pretty crazy car that actually had some decent power. One of the early concept-to-production cars.

wait a sec... an old client of mine is a gumball rally racer. while I was working for him, he was buying a new car for the races... was seriuosly considering a suburu rally-type production car that he claimed was one of the fastest cars on the road at the time... 2000ish (ended up with a BMW M5, IIRC, that he outfitted with Polizei stickers and crap because he was doing a european gumball- had some insane videos from that)

That could've been one of the original STI's. The STI's were big over in Europe and Asia for years before they brought them to the US back in the early 2000's. The Impreza started at Subaru as just an economy car in the US...it had much more of a performance pedigree elsewhere, at least in the STI trim.

I'm not sure the SVX was ever a rally car. Could've been, but not sure.

I don't remember that car.
I haven't seen one for a few years now. I remember seeing a few back a decade or so ago. The windows were the most distinctive feature.

Guy in my neighborhood I grew up in had a maroon one. Pretty cool but I always wondered what was up with the windows. Could you only open them halfway?

Here was my first car: 87 Honda Accord hatchback

Loved it. Especially the pop-up headlights.
Had the same car in white as well. Great on gas and had a sweet sunroof. Problem was this is still when Japanese cars had rust problems and it rusted out. Had a sweet 80's VW Scirocco which was a cool car. I think the Porsche 928 would be the one 80''s car i would want in terms of "newer" classic cars.

Holy cow, the Scirocco was the other car I almost got.

Also, don't forget the 944.

Pontiac Fiero
I loved this car as a kid. I know it's kind of silly, but it still holds a special place in my heart.
So did I. I think many people around my age have a special memory of this car. A buddy of mine got one senior year. Looked great everything else about the car was piece of crap.

This was the first car I thought of for a classic.
I always considered the Fiero to be a cheap imitation of the Toyota MR-2 which I had and loved it. http://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/1985-Toyota-MR2-Front.jpg

Both of which remind me of a Triumph TR7

That was the S-10 Blazer model, the pickup model was the Syclone ;)

Sort of...Just the little inside window went down. So if you had the windows "fully down," the little window was gone, but the bigger one was still there.
