Clausen's Value Going South With WAS Out of the Equation (1 Viewer)

I'll be the whack that says it.

Clausen is not that good. I think he slips out of the 1st round.
:bye: :lmao: ND guys get the hype and the love, but they still haven't produced a good/great QB since,well.......

ND = Florida in terms of useless NFL QBs
weird. i thought all florida did was pump out useless WRs (with Harvin excepted, of course).everyone has an opinion on players. hell, i hope Clausen slips out of the 1st, right on in to the 2nd, and KC makes a play to move up a couple spots in the 2nd to take him. a draft of Berry and Clausen would give many years of hope in the Land of Chiefs Kingdom.

I also think Clausen has been overhyped in the dratnik community. Would not be shocked at all to see him go in the late 1st.

I am trying to keep an open mind about Clausen. I haven't watch him play except for his highlight clips. After watching those highlights, I also come away more impressed with Golden Tate than I am with Clausen. Yet, it hard to agrue with his statistics - only 4 Ints in 2009 is amazing especially if it is true that he did not have a great O-line or running game to support him.

Walterfootball's Matt McGuire has been in Clausen's corner from the beginning. He thinks that current teams are over-rating their current staters and under-rating Clausen. http://www.walterfootball.com/mattblog100406.php

To me, Clausen's draft position is much more interesting story than Tebow's. I just don't know if he is the next Brady Quinn or the next Aaron Rodgers.

I love how everybody is on the anti-Clausen bandwagon after ESPN and other media outlets are reporting his slide.

Some of us were calling him out, way before yesterday. :P

Don't pat yourself on the back too much just because of his rumored slide. This is not uncommon. It's sort of luck of the draw. QB's go higher than they are rated (in terms of overall picks) many times because the top few teams have a definite need, and potential franchise QB's don't come around very often. Very few people have Sam Bradford rated #1 overall. That being said, if there are a slew of teams in a row who are set with QB's, not only in terms of ability but having big money tied to them, a QB can slide 20 slots in a hurry. Not necessarily a bad reflection on the QB. He takes a hit on his contract and some time gets great value, like GB with Rodgers. It happens.

possibly they didn't see espn and just saw the thread?or took some time to think before posting? :)

who stops the freefall?

quinn fell to 22, rodgers to 24...

#29 would get in front of next most obvious potential destination...

* maybe WAS didn't like either, prompting the mcnabb move?

Everyone does know that plenty of talented QBs came from outside the first round, right? =)
in recent years, 2nd round track record not that great (see likes of beck & stanton), except brees of course...& i think kolb will be very good...clausen will be very happy if he lands in MIN (now that he has fallen out of 1st, that would be a great landing spot)...
