Clayton's "Best Guess" Is Harrison Returns In Week 13 (1 Viewer)

From RotoWorld:

ESPN's John Clayton says the "best guess" is that Marvin Harrison (knee) will be out until Week 13.

The Colts play the Chiefs this weekend, then the Falcons on Thanksgiving, but Harrison isn't expected to play in either game. Clayton does say that Marvin "is getting better," but he isn't worth counting on this Sunday.

Here's the full report from Clayton's blog:

Harrison's return will take time: The best guess on Marvin Harrison is that he's not only going to miss Sunday's game against the Chiefs, but he'll probably be out Thanksgiving Day against the Falcons. Believe it or not, Harrison is getting better. He felt better this week than at any other time in the past month. He has inflammation under the kneecap as well as issues with the knee's bursa sac. When the swelling calms down, he should be able to play. It's just going to take time and patience. This is why it was important for the Colts to get tight end Dallas Clark back on the field for the Chiefs game. Harrison is making progress, and the team will be able to use him later this year.

doesn't sound too good.
That depends on your perspective. For Harrison owners this year, not good. For Colts fans, it's good because it doesn't sound like a career ending injury.
Ya, but also for Colts fans this year. At this point the division is in jeopardy IMO and with the Freeney/Harrison injuries, it may be just too much for them to handle.

Looks like he'll be out at least another 1-2 weeks. They might need him for the JAX game.

I think with Harrison, his fantasy owners pretty much have these options at this point in time:

1. It's unlikely you'll get anything of value for him in a trade so that's out.

2. In leagues with larger rosters you might as well hold onto him and see if he can return in Week 13 and how he looks.

3. In leagues with smaller rosters, give serious consideration to dropping him if there's a clearly productive player available on the Waiver Wire. Otherwise, hold onto him, see if he can return for Week 13. If he doesn't, drop him then.

The division isn't really in jeopardy. For all practical purposes, Jax is 2 games behind with 6 to play, and the Colts have a much easier finishing schedule than the Jags.

:hifive:

This is actually the best news I've heard about Harrison. I'm just trying to scrape into the playoffs and then hope Marvin can give me a boost. It's nice to finally get a little hard information, along with a projected return date (even if it is optimistic).

For those interested. Here's a Tuesday practice update from RotoWire:

Harrison (knee) participated in practice on Tuesday, but was limited, the team's official web site reports. The Colts haven't ruled him out for this Thursday's game, but we'd be surprised if he isn't held out another week with a return of Dec. 2 more likely. Still, he'll likely be a game-time decision.
