There saying he played through a dislocated elbo and fractured forarm thats just nuts! I would think he cant play with this injury or can he what a beast! freakin colts always hide there injuries and Session was catching fire

if session can't go on sunday... what (in your opinions) are the possibilities in the LB position changes?
I think there's a good chance that Angerer will fill in for Session. The coaches want him on the field, regardless of position. He started last week at SLB over Wheeler, and never played that position before. Wheeler is definitely the 4th best LB on the team, has experience, but only at SLB. If Session is out:Brackett at MLB as usualAngerer at WLB, possibility of 3rd down workWheeler at SLB, probably base defense only as that is all he's ever doneAnybody else have any thoughts? If Angerer is on the field the whole game, vs. PHI, he might explode in the box score.

I'm not a Colts homer but I'm a very interested Angerer owner. I don't see any flaws in your thinking given Angerer's emergence and performance and role to date, but I have no idea what Caldwell's plans actually are here. Homers?

Also, since I'm big on organizing and consolidating related threads to maximize search value and ease, might we consider combining this thread and the Pat Angerer thread into a "Colts LB discussion" thread, and then list Brackett, Session, Angerer and whoever else in the subtitle?

Rest, not surgery for Session for now.

Rest, not surgery or the season-ending injured reserve list, is the immediate prognosis for Indianapolis Colts' linebacker Clint Session.

Session dislocated his right elbow and fractured his right forearm in Monday's win over Houston.

A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed Session will not require surgery to address his two injuries.

"He is not going on IR. No surgery, just rest,'' the source said.

It's uncertain if Session will play Sunday at Philadelphia. He did not practice Wednesday or Thursday.

Although Session might be able to play if he can deal with the inevitable pain in his right arm, the team might opt to rest him for an undetermined time so he'll be ready for December and the playoffs.

Clint Session - LB - Indianapolis Colts Nov 5, 2010

Colts WLB Clint Session is expected to miss "at least" two games with a dislocated elbow and fractured forearm.

FOX Sports' Adam Caplan reports that the Colts will not place Session on injured reserve, instead hoping his arm injuries will heal over time. The Colts are so injury plagued that they may have to keep active an injured player for Sunday's game against the Eagles. It will be a situation to keep track of on game day. Tyjuan Hagler will start in Session's place. Source: FOX Sports NFL Buzz

Interesting really. According to the coaches they inserted Angerer in the starting line-up just to "get him on the field". If he is best fit for playing the middle, wouldn't sliding him over to play WLB be more useful to the team? Still, I would have to assume that he and Brackett will be the every down LBs until Session comes back. This should boosts his stats although not exactly what we were hoping for. I was actually hoping that they would move Brackett over as I believe he can play either in the middle or the weak side, and let Angerer take over the middle for the time being.

I really don't know what they are going to do at this point. All I know is, if you have Angerer on your squad, just sit back and wait for good things to happen. They are coming sooner than later...

I like the idea of him moving to MLB and Brackett to WLB. Pretty much what Carolina did with Connor and Beason. A situation that developed due to the stud WLB going down.

don't see Brackett/Angerer being able to play WLB in colts tampa2. they don't move well enuff for the position. think of the players the colts have trotted out at WLB over the past 10years and convince me Brackett/Angerer fit that mold.

the colts like a guy there that can run like the wind

OK, so who's that guy over the next 2 to 3 weeks? Hagler? Nobody on our team runs like the wind except Session. Angerer is the fastest LB of ours I've seen in years. He's inexperienced right now, but a flying maniac to the ball. I agree, Gary can't play out there, but he's not going to so this is just all ideas...Pat can and likely will play WLB at some point. Gary is the money man in the middle, probably for a few more years. Session, unless he resigns for pennies next year, will be gone.

Without question I'd agree Angerer looks like the fastest LB we've had in years. Everything I've heard has him starting on the weak side this week at least. Brackett in the middle and Wheeler back on the strong side by default. We'll see what happens but I see no reason why Angerer can't play the weak side. I think he's built perfectly for the middle but he's got the tools to take Session's spot and put up big numbers. He's faster than Session IMO and has the same nose for the ball.

I think it's a no-brainer (in regards to this season and fantasy football).. If you have the oportunity and the room on your roster, grab Angerer! Many Fantasy seasons have been decided on mid to late-season WW pickups! If in a couple weeks he doesn't do well, drop him. Boom or bust!!!

in my estimation watching angerer i've thought he was fast to react with good lateral quickness but not straightline fast. i'm not knocking angerer but in general i think the tampa2 WLB needs to be more athletic and a playmaker. i don't think he's on par with fellow iowa alum Chad Greenway to block anyone thinking i'm racially bias.

i've haven't seen a report thats definite but the 2reports i've seen seem to guess hagler will filling at WLB while sessions is out.

colts could definitely have a plan inplace and method to the madness..........but as of now the status is that wheeler is healthy and he has played SLB before and effectively and as of now Angerer isn't sliding over to WLB. if he could play the position and play it well it would make sense that they'd slide over to WLB(more important position in tampa2) and let wheeler man SLB, but they aren't it seems at least as of now. so the colts are still grooming him/want him at SLB for better run support/don't think he can play WLB.
