CNN.com (1 Viewer)

not as bad as NBCNews but still wayyyy too far into the mobile first philosophy. These major media sites looking to do a redesign should take a cue from bbc.com, simple, clean, and easy to navigate. I still like the old NBCNews.com site but i'm afraid we're too far down the rabbit hole now for any big companies to go back to that style

I like the 2 seperate headline for the opening of the Paul Revere time capsule:

"Paul Revere time capsule opened..."

"...and it contains"

Does that really need 2 seperate stories? And enough of the clickbait headlines.

They had already driven me away from SI.com with the horrible redesign. This is even worse.

Just painful.

I am ok with the money.cnn side of it but the main page is unbearable. I would comment somewhere but the site gave me night tremors.

Exactly--haven't been on SI since the redesign--which is sad because I was on there daily. Now it looks like CNN will be going that way as well.

Give me news. I don't want a loading video for every story. I want to read the story and give me the option to click on a video if I am so inclined.

Their Facebook page is getting absolutely hammered with negative comments. I don't think there is one positive comment on there.

Good. ESPN ruined their page now, too. I had heard a while back the change was coming, and I was hoping it would be for the better. But, nope. It's like and ADHD nightmare.

It's almost as bad as the sites that have you use individual links to view a list of things in a topic.Bleacher Report comes to mind right away and it's the main reason I never visit it anymore.

Yep just checked your right.

You would think companies would take a clue from Google. Yes their search engine is great but the interface is insanely simple, it's so simple there's nothing there but a text box. People use it to look up their hardware store phone number or basic stuff like that. Meanwhile hyper-busy Yahoo and AOL got run over. But still they don't get it.

CBS FF interface also was nearly ruined if you're on a laptop or any screen besides your phone.

I personally love the pop up advertisements on their mobile page. Every time I scroll down a new one expands. Then, when I finally found a video I was somewhat interested in, a 1:16 commercial appeared before I could continue.

Thing is, I opened it on my iPhone because the article says that's what they've made it ideal for and it's terrible. It's the same look as the ESPN app. And while the ESPN app is OK for getting scores, it's utter crap for articles. Just stupid. And sadly, all sites are doing this so I can't even go to another site to get away from this.

Also, stop with videos! I like to read news articles at work. I don't want to watch videos.

Bleacher Report's app is amazeballs

Really? I'm not a fan of it at all. I really like using TheScore

x 1000.

I love how on so many sites, the videos are preceded by commercials. The commercials ALWAYS load and run...the video you actually want to watch has a 50/50 chance of not loading or playing.

I loooooove how you can coordinate it by your favorite team. Rules.

That is nice, but I also like to see what other teams are doing. Feel like it's more work to find all scores for a certain sport on there.

Yup. And nothing better than having to watch a 30 second Tide commercial in order to see a 10 second clip.

Its almost at the point where I get ALL my sports news from twitter. Every actual sports website has become unreadable. Between the layout, the videos and ESPN making EVERYTHING with even a hint of analysis an InsIDER article, I just cant take it.

This is by far the most annoying thing ever.

Oh you want to read about the draft? Pay for Insider!

Come check out the top prospects in baseball! But, you have to pay first!

Wanna see Jay Bilas' bracket? Pay up first!

Why do they think that's a good idea? I can see hundreds of other mock drafts and not have to pay a cent. Have Kiper and McShay really been that good lately? Seems like a terrible business model to force people to pay to read articles when they can just find similar analysis elsewhere for free.

Honestly guys.....sbnation and bleacher report. Tons of great writers and content. More than I can ever read.

I haven't gone to ESPN for anything except scores in ages.
