I look at SOS to a certain degree. For years now you can count on teams having good offensive games versus the Lions, especially on the road. If you're playing the Lions and at home, somebody is having a big day.

If you're a team that plays the Lions twice, that's all the better. Count on Adrian Peterson getting a combined total of 300 yards and 4 td's in just those two games.

There are lots of little things like that, that are likely to happen again this year.

Is it the end all, no of course not but it's an angle.

For example, in a league where I drafted Tom Brady I looked at Brady's bye (4), and looked for a QB that had what I thought would be an average matchup or better.

Now, I don't know for sure that matchup will be as good or as juicy as I thought, but it's an angle you can play.

I don't even know where to begin with this...ignoring schedule strength is ridiculous.
That's actually the one point in which I agree with him the most.
For example, I will bet you one million dollars the Vikings run D will be better than the Raiders run D.Do you want some of that action?
do you really bump down projections of RB's because they have Minn on a schedule?
No, I look at the entire schedule.
so how do you adjust projections for SOS, knowing that SOS is a composite number of 12 different teams, all of whom have had significant turnover in personnel, coaching, and scheme?I'd love to see a rational explanation of (1) how pre-season SOS can be evaluated and (2) how to apply SOS to projections. I highly doubt it can be done .

Why did you have to go and put the word rational in there? I wanted to see what Lschmucks had to say about this. But now that you have rational in there, I'm guessing he won't respond. Wait. check that. He'll respond. He'll just disregard the word rational...
