COD: Black Ops 3 (2 Viewers)

Got diamond on all the SMGs and both launchers.

I'm enjoying this game the most in the cod series. They did a good job.

I love that they clearly changed back to host advantage. That host migration stuff used to be so annoying. Now if I drop 40+ kills I just figure I was the host. Nicer to get rewarded for a high speed connection rather than getting screwed. Though I will say occasionally the host kills me 10+ times and most feel like bs to me, so it cuts both ways.

I'm working on the last two camos to gold the rocket launcher. Seems like it is going to take a lot of luck to finish those up.

 
I didn't finish them up until I switched from TDM to kill confirmed. Not enough talons and sentries etc. in TDM. Sometimes in Kill Confirmed there will be 2-3 UAVs and a counter uav or 2 among other things.

 
Good call. I suppose I have to tailor the game I am played to the achievement I am trying to unlock. I am playing TDM exclusively.

These are the new items that are available now:

Is that the update that dropped yesterday? I logged on and it prompted me to update, but I didn't poke around looking for changes.

Are the new weapons free for everyone to obtain, or do you need to get them from the black market?

I think these are all black market. The fury's song looks pretty cool. A two handed sword.

 
They nerfed the vesper for the second time. The range was nerfed long ago and now the recoil has gotten crazy. It's a total short range sprayer now, you're better off with the Kuda, VMP or Pharo.

They don't have dedicated servers, so someone in the lobby is host for the lobby. Everyone's game play goes through the host. The lag correction mechanism usually gives an advantage to the host.

 
Treyarch has announced that they are activating both Double XP and Double Weapon XP for Black Ops 3 on Friday, February 12th at 10AM PT. It will end on February 16th at 10AM PT. In addition, Nuk3town only playlist will be active during this time period on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Trying to remember which are the new ones...I am horrible at names for these maps

Water Park: This is a fun map with the basic 3 lane set up.  Some water to swim and take shortcuts.   Also has a small overlook to the middle that people post up in, but there are the water slide spots that overlook this (round tunnels) from both sides that can be used to take that position out.  Large map.  

There is one that I don't remember the name that is also 3 lanes:  One side is an urban environment, middle is snow and other side is jungle.  Hate this map...campers paradise.  Will always vote against it.

I think the ones with the rail cars on one side and the water on the other is also a new one...same basic set up as water park, more of a medium sized map.  Also fun.  Watch on the back side where it has the large open area.  On the back side there is a small office type building that juts out with an AC unit on top that snipers will usually post up on.  Fairly easy to get to the side of them and take them out once you know the map.

I can't remember what the other new one was off the top of my head...will edit this and add it if it pops into my head.

Thanks.  I believe the other map is Skyjacked, an update of Hijacked from the last iteration.

That one is called Gauntlet. I'm also not a fan of it, seems whenever I play it everyone is in the snow section of the map.

 
*Primarily play hardcore KC*

Skyjacked- This is hijacked from BO2 and I agree with Bogey that there is something not as good about it.  It's pretty much the same, but the jumping and ship running make it worse.  You will play this a lot.....always voted in.

Rise - Decent map.  It's big and there multiple attack areas.  Doesn't get picked much

Splash- Water park with a bunch of areas to attack in.  Lot of camping in middle area.  It's fun and colorful.

Gauntlet-  There is a lot of camping areas and most of them seem to happen in the forest area.  This is a great map to pull out thermal and go to town.

Still haven't lucked into any of the new weapons from the last release.  Still haven't lucked into all of the supply drop weapons that came with the initial offering (have the wrench, nothing else).

That's pretty lame.  They should guarantee something if your paying for it.  

I purchased the season pass, I'm not sure why that doesn't guarantee me all the weapons, but whatever.  I guess I'll just be jealous of all the lvl 127 guys out there with plasma camo's for their sword two days after release running around with gold outfits for his specialist.  Are the guys that play this game 23 hours a day really where they make their money?  Why cater to them?

I've bought every CoD since CoD4, and every year I've paid for the season pass. No more. Ridiculous.

 
I made it to prestige master recently.  That unlocks every weapon and perk for you EXCEPT the black market stuff.  I've yet to receive a special weapon in a black market and I only buy the rare ones.  Sad trombone: wa waaaaaa

Im saving the keys now incase they run a special that guarantees a weapon or something.  They did that last week for specialist garb but I didn't have enough keys to trade.

That's probably a good idea, but I consider it a victory of impulse control to save up to 30 instead of spending 10 every time.  I don't think I could every save them indefinitely hoping for some payoff down the line.

BTW, I'm beginning to wonder if it is worth it saving for 30.  You get a bonus (usually from 3-8) back whenever you make a purchase.  Is the bonus the same for buying the 10s?  If you get 3-5 back three times instead of once, I wonder if it makes more sense just to buy the 10s.  Hmm...

I tried the 10 strategy, and you don't get the bonus, so the math does not work out.

Of course I'll be out of town this weekend...and we just got The Show, so COD will be collecting dust for a while.

 
So I'm still trying to get the special reward for winning 75 games.  I had the day off yesterday and a couple of hours to kill, so I played about ten games.  I started the day with 71 victories, and ended the day with....71.  I was so annoyed, it was rediculous.  Now, granted, I have a .9 lifetime k/d ratio, so it's not like I'm usually carrying the team to victory, but I'm usually not a detriment.  I had one game where we were winning about 80-65, end ended up losing 99-100.

I probably shouldn't play anytime soon as my controller was about to go through my TV a couple of times.

Activision and Treyarch have officially announced that Daily and Weekly Contracts are coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Tuesday, June 14.

Daily Contracts will give you Cryptokey Rewards, and Weekly Contracts will also provide you with extra Cryptokey rewards. The rewards include bonus Cryptokeys, exclusive Calling Cards, and more. In addition, Treyarch will be adding new contracts ever day.

In addition, there is a special Mercenary Contract, which will allow you to use the newest playable specialist for a limited time: the Blackjack. The Blackjack is the new 10th specialist in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. The character is the Black Market dealer himself; his ability lets you access the weapon of each Specialist you kill. The Gambler ability will activate a random ability from his Specialist deck at an accelerated rate.

This is interesting.  I wonder if you can combine that with the perk that gets you the specialist ability faster and run around with one half the game.

I'm still trying to figure out combat focus, why one would ever use it, and how to use it effectively.

I finally got my 75 victory contracts.  Between the 10 crates, and free weapon, I got three new melee weapons (but no bat or long sword, the two I would have been happy with), and none of the new guns.  Pretty lame.

So far I have found the daily contracts to be OK, but the weekly contracts are teh suck and appear to only be there to get people to try certain game modes.

The way you would use combat focus would be to have UAV and CounterUAV as streaks...activate those 2 when you have the focus and you will get to a Cerberus or other higher streak fairly quickly.

There really isn't a reason to do them unless you really want to use Blackjack for an hour and try to get lame calling cards.

I haven't wasted any time trying.  Being a mediocre player, trying to help a team win in a game mode I'm not familiar with the tactics isn't condusive to getting victories or piling up achievements.

Wish I had been playing hardcore from the start.  Game is so much better.  Wrecking people in kill confirmed.  Never played this mode before.

PS4 or Xbox?

If PS4, add me (Bogeys66).  I have a group of 10 people that play regularly.  Can usually get at least a group of 4 a couple times a week, and when the full group is going it is a lot more fun than randoms.
