He wants you to follow his beliefs and his mantras... or get out. Don't you dare have your own nuanced thoughts and feelings. Or he will call you un-Patriotic or something.I always find this kind of crap silly.

Isn't that your entire philosophy?I bet you support participation trophies.I always find this kind of crap silly.
I certainly don't think America is the greatest country in the world. And I would say most of the developed world outside of America agrees with that.
But why does it have to be the "greatest"? As long as its pretty f'n good, who cares?
Living in a the "greatest" country, with 300 million other people, and somehow taking personal pride in being the "greatest", without having accomplished anything yourself, is, to me, the very definition of a participation trophy.I bet you support participation trophies.
Awesome response.Living in a the "greatest" country, with 300 million other people, and somehow taking personal pride in being the "greatest", without having accomplished anything yourself, is, to me, the very definition of a participation trophy.
Presumably you've not loved other countries.I don't know - I've never NOT loved this country. Never had any doubts about it either.
Sadly, tell this to conservative talk radio. Mark Belling states conservative talking point one after another. People eat it up without ever knowing or wanting to know the origin of the protests. Sad!This is pretty well articulated...

I'd so get put on timeout.what are we using for the measuring stick?
The flag scrapping across the ground is unintentional comedic nirvana
This is one of my biggest problems with the whole protest thing. Okay, we are kneeling and now in week 7 we are not because things are so much better. :whoosh:what are we using for the measuring stick?
I think a lot of us wonder the same thing.I'm not going to review 97 pages here but can someone explain why this display of unity by the players has to take place during the National Anthem? Why not 1 minute before or 1 minute after? Seems to me that by holding it during the National Anthem they've lost their message and made it about the National Anthem when that could have easily been avoided.
1 minute after they're in commercial.I'm not going to review 97 pages here but can someone explain why this display of unity by the players has to take place during the National Anthem? Why not 1 minute before or 1 minute after? Seems to me that by holding it during the National Anthem they've lost their message and made it about the National Anthem when that could have easily been avoided.
I believe it was to gain as much attention as they could in order to spread their message. If they did it before or after fewer people would care. The fact that it pissed a lot of people off and is all over the media proves it worked.I'm not going to review 97 pages here but can someone explain why this display of unity by the players has to take place during the National Anthem? Why not 1 minute before or 1 minute after? Seems to me that by holding it during the National Anthem they've lost their message and made it about the National Anthem when that could have easily been avoided.
I think that's his point. 1 minute prior and they're in the locker room.1 minute after they're in commercial.
And 1 minute before they're talking in the studio.1 minute after they're in commercial.
I meant what measuring stick are we using to determine which country is the greatest. This is one of my biggest problems with the whole protest thing. Okay, we are kneeling and now in week 7 we are not because things are so much better. :whoosh:
It is like me saying I am going to hold my breath until people are nice to one another.
Exactly. Why can't they protest when it doesn't affect me? Who wants to be bothered with the problems of the world?"Why can't they protest when no one is watching?"
No, it's kind of like we're going to wear pink gloves and shoes every October. This is one of my biggest problems with the whole protest thing. Okay, we are kneeling and now in week 7 we are not because things are so much better. :whoosh:
It is like me saying I am going to hold my breath until people are nice to one another.
watThis is the saddest part about the protests is that they are just getting more people killed. Homicide rates will continue to soar and nobody cares (and shhhh nobody can talk about it).
Because it makes you pay attention.I'm not going to review 97 pages here but can someone explain why this display of unity by the players has to take place during the National Anthem? Why not 1 minute before or 1 minute after? Seems to me that by holding it during the National Anthem they've lost their message and made it about the National Anthem when that could have easily been avoided.
I care. Why can't we talk about it?This is the saddest part about the protests is that they are just getting more people killed. Homicide rates will continue to soar and nobody cares (and shhhh nobody can talk about it).
The homicide rate is going to continue to increase but the PC thing to do is cry about the police. It's not that difficult to understand.
Also I don't understand this sentence. Please explain how the protests are getting more people killed. TiaThis is the saddest part about the protests is that they are just getting more people killed.
"Nazis"Also I don't understand this sentence. Please explain how the protests are getting more people killed. Tia
Crying about the police is doing more harm to this country than good. Also I don't understand this sentence. Please explain how the protests are getting more people killed. Tia
Oh do tell!Crying about the police is doing more harm to this country than good.
How is it causing deaths as you claim? I don't get it.Crying about the police is doing more harm to this country than good.
I'm sure you don't. Liberals seem content on letting the homicide rates in this country continue to increase. How is it causing deaths as you claim? I don't get it.
Dang. You found us out.I'm sure you don't. Liberals seem content on letting the homicide rates in this country continue to increase.
Maybe take a knee it the court room? No, it's kind of like we're going to wear pink gloves and shoes every October.
Contrary to what everyone is saying, the reason it's during the anthem is not because that's the most visible time. It's much more organic than that.I'm not going to review 97 pages here but can someone explain why this display of unity by the players has to take place during the National Anthem? Why not 1 minute before or 1 minute after? Seems to me that by holding it during the National Anthem they've lost their message and made it about the National Anthem when that could have easily been avoided.
This is exactly why I called the Cowboy stuff a half-measure."Why can't they protest when no one is watching?"
Wait, so a peaceful protest is met with violence?Fans run onto the field to confront the players when they kneel.
But the homicide rates would be at 50-year lows if we didn't count 2008-2014.I'm sure you don't. Liberals seem content on letting the homicide rates in this country continue to increase.
Money doesn't always solve every problem. Not playing doesn't solve anything. Why aren't any of these players protesting by not playing, or donating their game checks to the cause?
Money doesn't solve the police/justice/political system, as they don't have nearly enough money or resources to wholesale change those institutions.Money doesn't always solve every problem. Not playing doesn't solve anything.
