College QB Drew Allar, Penn State (1 Viewer)

That was a rough interception. Poor kid. He also looks like he's 16. Hope he comes back strong next year.

I cannot believe how bad this kid is. How is it possible that this is the best QB the a program like Penn St. can put on the field?

He's a mental midget. Performs decently well in games not involving OSU, UM, SEC schools, or Final 4 playoffs, so remains starter. When it counts he shrinks. Notice him bouncing around all night refusing to set his feet? That's a classic symptom of his.

All criticisms on the kid are more than fair, especially from this last game. But I'd also challenge anyone to name a PSU WR. They may as well not even put them on the field. Devoid of talent at the position is the nicest way to put it. And watching the game, every time the cameras panned behind Allar and showed the field, not one time did I see a WR with even a modicum of separation. Tyler Warren was the only passing weapon he's had all season, and it's a miracle they/he did as well as they did this year IMO.

Good counter point. The kid seems to have some good traits and hopefully makes some leaps this coming year.

We can only hope. There might only be 2 QBs right now I'm mildly excited to draft between both this year and next. Even with the hype behind Arch Manning, it's been two years and I don't think he has 100 attempts on tape yet.

Has the physical tools to be all world
Literally doesn't have anything else
I don't say this lightly, Christian Hackenberg-esque
Hackenberg is the exact guy I thought of of too. Maybe Allar’s WRs weren’t all that but he had 3 future NFL skill players on that offense including a pretty special TE prospect. Plus im sure that oline has some pros on it. He had support.

I like what I've seen from Allar so far. He's smart with the football and he comes off as a system QB because Penn St has NFL talent at RB and TE. He still has a lot to prove to be a first rounder next year, but he's one of the few in college football with that potential.

#PennState QB Drew Allar (6-5, 238)

Big pocket passer. Velocity to fit passes into tight windows and shows touch on deep throws. Accuracy made a major leap in 2024.

As a Penn state fan sack avoidance within the pocket is a trait of his that gets overlooked.

Agreed. Good athlete for his size.

Its pretty simple for Allar this year, win big games, and make big throws(key throws), not against Northwestern and Mich St, but against Oregon and Ohio St. Be the leader. Lead a comeback throwing dimes. Win playoff games. Dont throw that INT vs Notre Dame again.
If he does that, he's a top 5 pick next year. All the physical stuff is there, size, arm, can run it a bit. Wish PSU gave him some WR options, not just TEs.
So many QBs to follow in the college game this year, and as a Steelers fan, knowing they need one badly, it will be fun watching more teams/games.
