I cannot believe how bad this kid is. How is it possible that this is the best QB the a program like Penn St. can put on the field?
Good counter point. The kid seems to have some good traits and hopefully makes some leaps this coming year. All criticisms on the kid are more than fair, especially from this last game. But I'd also challenge anyone to name a PSU WR. They may as well not even put them on the field. Devoid of talent at the position is the nicest way to put it. And watching the game, every time the cameras panned behind Allar and showed the field, not one time did I see a WR with even a modicum of separation. Tyler Warren was the only passing weapon he's had all season, and it's a miracle they/he did as well as they did this year IMO.
We can only hope. There might only be 2 QBs right now I'm mildly excited to draft between both this year and next. Even with the hype behind Arch Manning, it's been two years and I don't think he has 100 attempts on tape yet.Good counter point. Hackenberg is the exact guy I thought of of too. Maybe Allar’s WRs weren’t all that but he had 3 future NFL skill players on that offense including a pretty special TE prospect. Plus im sure that oline has some pros on it. He had support.Has the physical tools to be all world
Literally doesn't have anything else
I don't say this lightly, Christian Hackenberg-esque

Drew Allar showing off his arm at Penn State’s Pro Day![]()
Underwhelming or not, next year’s crop of QBs are better than this year.Allar is just underwhelming.

#PennState QB Drew Allar (6-5, 238)
Big pocket passer. Velocity to fit passes into tight windows and shows touch on deep throws. Accuracy made a major leap in 2024.

As a Penn state fan sack avoidance within the pocket is a trait of his that gets overlooked.

Agreed. Good athlete for his size.

Some very encouraging stuff from Drew Allar yesterday.
He was all over Nevada's corner cats all day long. Watch him ID the pressure, communicate to the OL, and then when the sight adjust is covered, work the field side.
This is good.

“No shirt is safe around him now.” Drew Allar has worked hard to position himself to be the first PSU 1st-round QB since 1995. In his final ride in State College, can he and his team find the "The Difference" on the treacherous terrain from great to elite? espn.com/college-footba…

Speaking to NFL scouts coming into this season, there’s two games they had circled on the schedule for Allar and the first one happens on Saturday vs. Oregon.
Resume game for him this week.

CFP? Postgame I asked Drew Allar, “Are you guys still in the hunt for the playoffs?”
He turned and asked me, “What do you think?
“I don’t know,” I said.
To which he replied, “Yes.”
This would be on brand for Steelers.
