Quiet
Please keep it that way.
Yeah, I held back for bit on talking about him and wondered if I had said to much, lol.
But way I see it when I'm doing my rookie drafts he'll be on everyone's radar since at that point I expect his high draft stock to be known. And in redraft I'm 4 for 4 on drafting him this year so already got a good sized filling of Taylor on those teams, which are all 1.5 PPR TEP.
On that note some feedback I've heard:
*mentioned this yesterday but what got him on my radar was Jim Nagy who did an interview before the Senior Bowl and spoke about him a few minutes with the most eye opening comment saying he thought before all was said and done he had a shot to be the first TE taken in the draft. The other eye opening comment he had on him was he said last year when teams went to LSU's pro day to look at Nabers and Thomas that Taylor participated and stole the show.
*after his combine performance both Bucky Brooks and Zierlien on a podcast labeled him a "riser" and thought he had a great shot to sneak into round one. They were both impressed with all of his drills, even said the way he moved the sled was "just different" and one of them noted that he would still be 20 on draft night and still had room to keep growing his frame.
*Dane Brugler on a podcast after the combine was asked if he had like any other thoughts he wanted to share and he brought up Taylor first, said he crushed the combine, could not find a single team with anything who had a negative thing to say about him and also said he thought he had a great shot to go round one.
*on slight negative note Daniel Jeremiah lowered him one spot in his top 50 after the combine. Probably had more to do with rising up other players, and still had him high, like 36 or 37 overall I think. Brugler has him about the same range in his top 100 but his was before the combine. Saw Nate Tice put out a top player list yesterday and it was almost identical.
That's what I've been hearing. Does not make a big deal to me if he's round one or not. Well no deal really. This class is deep on the lines and edge and that's a more premium position so that might push him back though for sure the two teams currently picking 31 and 32 could use a TE of the future. In fact if he fell to the Chargers in late round 2 I'd be pretty happy. Either way he's going to go high and despite his age and TE's sometimes taking time he's actually extremely polished and NFL ready. A true Y with pass catching skills. Only thing that I think keeps him from being an every down player form the jump is if he goes to a team like I just mentioned, KC or Philly, teams with incumbents on last year of their deals.
My only real question is the upside, will he just fall into that wide mass of similar or inconsistent producing TE's or be someone of legit tangible value at the4 position. I only play almost entirely in 1.5 TEP league and his odds are of course higher for success in this format.
