Colston playing or not (1 Viewer)

This is NOT confirmed and is secondhand info, so take it for what it's worth, but according to a poster on a Saints BB, WWL (local radio station covering the Saints) just said that Colston will probably play tonight.

so assuming colston plays, and with horn out, is henderson still starting or does copper get the start? i know copper usually subs for horn and henderson for colston, but has anyone heard anything specific to tonights game? TIA

Colston is NOT on the inactive list on the Saints official site. Everything I've read(nothing official) says he's playing.

Does this mean that Copper isn't starting? ...might Colston be a decoy?

**Disregard this post--A quick double-check of the FBG inactive sheet showed that Copper is replacing Horn, not Colston.**

"Copper and Henderson starting. Colston being used sparingly as per Kenny Wilkerson."

Been following this as closely as I can. If Colston's a go, HE feels he is a go and will contribute strongly. Downgrade Bush's activity level some, but not a ton since Horn's out. He'll still be split wide.

If you are trailing or need major output in your game, gamble on a guy that can put up a big night - put Colston in. If you are already winning and want to play conservative, but another guy in.

Best of luck to all.

To the best of my knowledge and based on previous and similar situations, Colston starting, along with Horn being inactive means:Colston WR1Henderson WR2Copper WR 3This is a BIG game for New Orleans, so Colston suiting up means that it's finally go time for him. I do not think NO will be able to run at Dallas and, after last week, I have to think that Dallas is prepared to focus on R Bush. I sure would welcome someone who knows the Saints offense better than me to provide direction on who figures to be targeted and score more between these 3 WR's. After all, playoff runs are riding on tonight's game!Good luck, all! :banned:

interesting. saints pre-game radio says colston is starting, now this. I might just leave Duece in my flex spot.

i've got both Colston and Henderson. i will start Henderson. he is healthier and i believe all 3 WRs incl Copper will see many throws their way. but i would prefer a healthy Henderson than a possible re-gimped Colston mid-game.

Who posted it? Bum Phillips?
This was posted a couple of minutes later:"He'll be the third reciever, and if they can "do business" with Copper, Henderson and Bush according to Wilkerson he's likely to be limited."I don't know who this Kenny Wilkerson is that a few people have quoted, but I have to think that with how big of a game this is for NO, Colston wouldn't suit up unless he knew he would do some good for the team. While that good may come by way of being a decoy, you'd have to think that the guy wouldn't want to risk reaggravating the injury for the playoffs.

I just posted the inactives. It's noteworthy that Aaron Stecker is inactive, which is one more potential receiving target (yes, he has had a lot of targets as a RB split wide). That indicates to me that Colston is NOT a decoy, as with Stecker and Horn out they need the rest of the targets all ready to go in such a big game.

When Horn was out earlier, Copper started, not Henderson. So unless something has changed since then, I would expect Copper to be out there with Colston more often, assuming Colston is full-go.

If the Saints lose they are only a game up in the division and wild card. I think saving Colston is not even a thought. I'm just wondering how much these message board people know. If it's like this one, not a lot. I'd like to hear from Saints team officials or the broadcast team in NO. I have Cooper and Colston and need to choose.

This is my thought and hope as well

So, what can we expect from Henderson????I need 60 yards or a TD out of this guy.... Damn this will be close. Is this a realistic statline i can expect???

Apparently Colston is a go, but from what has been said in the local radio market his ankle is still tender. It has been said that if he were a veteran he could manage the pain better and would be already playing. I think we will get the burner speed from him, but cuts in his routes could be limited. Copper always backups Horn. Take it for what its worth but if Colston is a pro-bowl caliber player he should excel against the Cowboys tonight ankle or not that's what champions do. If you want to be conservative and take no risk start soemone else.

Tough to know. But if Colston isn't limited at all, I wouldn't expect Henderson to be out there unless they're in a three-WR set. The gameplan and the score will dictate how many three-WR sets they're in. And no one knows how much Colston will play. There, did that help?

I've got to make a decision between Colston and Crayton in one league. Since I was also down Chester Taylor I had few other options and it worked that I could hold them both at once for the evening game. In another I went Mark Clayton over him and thankfully it worked out. Is Colston officially starting or just not on the injury list?

I have to pick between Henderson tonight and Berrian tomorrow night. I'm taking a chance with Henderson. I expect Chicago to pound the ball vs the Rams plus the Chicago QB is too big of a question mark. At least I know Brees can throw the ball, I just hope Henderson plays enough to catch some of them. Willie
Good info here. :sarcasm:
Sorry I didn't enlighten you. Your contribution was much better. Should I have said "Colston is suiting up, me along with many others here really have no idea what to expect from him"?? :wall:

he is playing per NBC live report

added: probably announced too late to help anyone
