Hey folks, I'm not interested in whether or not it should or shouldn't be banned and why or why not. There is another thread dedicated to that discussion in the SP. Please join that discussion if you want to discuss those issues.

I'm more interested in whether you think/believe the NFL will ban the play or not. A simple "yes" or "no." If you do not care, please vote that option.

Thanks!!!

Just talking strictly about the voting, I don't see a way this has 24 owners. Say this gets less than 10 votes - does this proposal go away or, can a team literally just propose this every single year, like a child, until they get their way?

Are there enough teams that are beta enough to say they can't stop this play, so lets eliminate it? I get that the Packers are up there but I find it hard to believe that there is some majority of teams with such a lack of humility and self assuredness that they are willing to replace the age old phrase, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" with "if you can't beat 'em, get enough people to complain so they get eliminated."

First show a significantly increased injury risk then it has a chance to pass. It’s a no for me dawg.

Do we really need another thread on this?
I get it and I kind of thought the same, but at least this is a poll, meaning (1) it's intended more objectively -- what we think will happen, not what we think should happen -- and (2) we can see the numbers of votes. The other is a thread devoted to how "horrible" it is.

So your logic is that it's okay for a bunch of players to assist the runner forward and that if the other team can't stop it then too bad? Wut?

Isn't assisting the runner already illegal? Can a bunch of guys on OFF grab the runner and carry him down the field like they're basically doing with the tush push, just a shorter distance?

That's what happens when you don't read all of the poll options. I would have voted with noted Eagles fans Cowboysfan8, ChiefD, and Tom Servo in the "I don't care" portion of things.

First question: YES, as long as it is an assist from behind.

Second question: PUSHING is legal (permitted.) PULLING, CARRYING is illegal (not permitted.)

Facts are your friend.

So your logic is that it's okay for a bunch of players to assist the runner forward. Yes. Not "my logic". The rules.
and that if the other team can't stop it then too bad. Yes. Yes, of course.
Isn't assisting the runner already illegal? No.
Can a bunch of guys on OFF grab the runner and carry him down the field like they're basically doing with the tush push, just a shorter distance? No. And that's not what they are doing with this play.

Dudes come on we got 40+ pages dedicated to the actual play haha this is just how the Owners/Teams will vote/how we think

Other than the Packers

Who is a YE?

I've previously stated I don't care one way or the other. My initial opinion against it was, why allow the push tush if you don't allow someone to climb the back of the OL to block field goal attempts? On the other hand, I read many say in the other thread it shouldn't be allowed because of potential injury. I've seen no indication this play causes injuries. Even if it does, any play can cause injuries. If it starts to cause injuries on a regular basis, then yes, ban it. I don't think just because no one can stop the Eagles when they run it is a valid reason to ban it.

Facts are clearly his enemy.

NFL should ban any type of aiding the runner plays, including OL pushing the RB forward. Too many rules favoring the offense as is.

Was illegal prior to 2005 but seems like it's gotten worse in the last couple years.
