Welcome to the Tush Push network. All QB sneaks all the time.

I am your host Dusty Bottoms channeling co-host **** Butkus from beyond the Grave.

**** what do you think of the Packers trying to rules lawyer the QB sneak out of existence ?

Just let them play Dusty. Push the center back onto the QB.

What about the concern of more injuries occurring because of the play?

I never set out to hurt anyone unless it was important, like in a league game or something. So I don't think this is any different.

I remember when these types of things were acted on quickly. Not sure I understand why there is such a need for so many of them. Obviously I’m missing something. I’ll excuse myself now.
A lot of these threads are being created by, and are coming from the top.
1 = a lot?

🙄

:goodposting: Thank you. :lmao:

There's a thread I started with a poll that was relevant when lots of people were talking about this.

Then the Eagles Thread folks changed their title to make it about Tush Push.

Seems about right given how popular the topic is.
:lmao::lmao::lmao::goodposting::lmao::lmao::lmao:
So soft. Sad. Weak.

Remember what was acted on?
Merged threads.

I'm not going to merge a poll thread with the Team Thread or another longer running discussion thread. We've never done that here. Ever. You didn't miss anything. That's something we've never done and will not start now.
:sigh: OK, whatever you think is best.

Thanks. I think we do a pretty good job overall of keeping the board moving along. Part of it's I'm sure is it's May and the news is a little quiet. Will pick up soon I'm sure.
lol really?

Wow. So looks like I'm not the only one you're insufferable with. Looks like I was right about your motives.

And you dancing around a simple on topic question, shows yours.

Everyone drop the back and forth slaps.

No worries, I get that some here think we run the forum poorly and "lol" at the idea we do a pretty good job overall of keeping the board moving along. That's life.

Hopefully this comment will do it. If not, I think this thread and the value shift thread have run their course and don’t provide any further value to the forum. Really, they’ve become a detriment and can be locked.

I'd understand if the rationale behind banning the play was "it's not entertaining." That would be honest and we know the league prioritizes entertainment (and revenue) over everything else.

Trying to make it a safety issue when there is no evidence of it is completely disingenuous and I have no tolerance for that.

I'm just happy now to start back up all the other players assisting other player talk. It's going to be fun to see how many field goals are blocked when they stay consistent and allow players to assist other defensive players in blocking kicks.

That’s football 🤷‍♂️ Different rules for different sides of the ball. Heck, we’ve got different rules for different positions.

Count me as another vote to lock these threads up. Or just pause them until something new is worth talking about. It’s the same tired arguments over and over.

Exactly. Surprised he doesn't understand that.

We've definitely had the same arguments over and over. Very little chance anyone's moving on anything.

I do think the poll results were useful and about what I expected.

I also believe in how the NFL makes rules. It's a clear process and transparent. They had a vote and it's the law of the land for another year. That's the rules and that's how it works.

And it wll be interesting if this ruling starts discussion about other rules in other parts of the game like the defensive player assisting. Might be one more reason to not have kickers in fantasy football. ;)

I’m in a 12 team SF with no K and no D/ST

It’s my only non-IDP league and I love it. I never want to go back to K & D/ST again.

Start 10, very flexy, and a far superior format. I wish my IDP leagues would eliminate the K.

K in FF lineups is a relic of when most leagues were TD-only or TD-heavy and kicker was one of the few positions that was guaranteed to score points every week.

Not really a need for it with modern scoring systems.

Agreed. The only reason I haven’t lobbied for a change in my 2x K leagues is because I drafted Aubrey as a rookie, & that dude’s been insanely productive. He’s had multiple 20+ weeks.

I remember a team taking Chip Lohmiller in the 1sr round of our local FF draft in the early 90s,

I'm calling your doc right now to get you scheduled for that tailbone removal surgery.

Worse is that the ones espousing this say "it's obvious, look at it". Yet....most serious NFL injuries happen from high speed/momentum collisions or from awkward angles (think lineman falling on back of another linemans leg)
There is no momentum in this play. NO high speed collisions. Angles? Certainly no worse then any other play, and better then most, players certainly are far less likely to land on the back of each others legs at least.

It is not "obviously" more dangerous then most plays. I would argue it's obviously safer then the average play

final take....

1. I am of the opinion that the tush push is kind of the essence of football....matriculate the ball down the field
2. however if the defense can't do the same thing to the nose tackle on regular plays (not punts or kicks)....then it should be illegal to push the ball carrier forward
3. if offense lines up in punt or kick formation.....then the center should be protected like he is now...if they switch out of that formation into tush push formation then defense can push nose tackle
4. I also don't think GB should be taking heat for being the ones "submitting the proposal" ....21 other teams agreed with them....they just happened to be the ones to submit what 22 teams were thinking...

Pinky toes too, please.

I understand not liking starting kickers. But are they really any less consistent than cornerbacks? Corners also have the oddity of the best players being almost useless in FF.
Like all things there are tiers.

Slot corners tend to be more valuable. Some CB drop down to become pseudo box safeties.

Also my IDP leagues score CB higher than S, who are scored higher than DE, who are scored higher than LB. Not to extremes, but enough to lend balance.

K are just so random. And there are better and worse kickers, but the difference between the best FF K and the ~16th best isn’t as wide a chasm as the best CB and the 16th best CB.

Like I said, I’m not rallying against K in the leagues I’m in that have them. I just like the league I don’t have em in more.

however if the defense can't do the same thing to the nose tackle on regular plays
when would that would really help?
Fwiw I’d absolutely agree.
as it stands now the defense cannot line up and push the nose tackle in the back the way the offense can push the ball carrier over and through the center......if the defense would be allowed to line up guys behind the nose tackle and or defensive tackles and push them forward, they may be able to generate enough force to help stop the momentum and distance gained by the offense...

I don't like the play, but it doesn't bother me that much. Something about the phrase tush push triggers me. It's probably the smirky announcers who think it's such a cute turn of phrase. I would be in favor of banning calling it that or any other pun.
