Indianapolis Colts running back Kenton Keith was arrested early Sunday morning outside a nightclub on Indianapolis' west side.

Police said Keith, 27, was arrested outside the Cloud 9 nightclub after 3 a.m. on preliminary charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting law enforcement and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to a police report, Keith was part of a large group of people gathered in the parking lot outside Cloud 9 after the club closed.

An off-duty officer working security at the club said Keith and several others continued to lean in cars, dance in the parking lot and yell and scream despite several warnings to leave the area.

The officer went on to say in the report that, when threatened with arrest for not leaving, Keith responded repeatedly he "would not be quiet. He kept hollering he was a Colts player, that he wasn’t doing nothing wrong, that he would leave when he got ready."

The officer also claimed Keith smelled of alcohol and had glassy eyes.

Police also said Keith admitted helping a 19-year-old enter the nightclub to attend a party there Saturday night, resulting in the contributing to the delinquency of a minor charge.

Keith was released from custody Sunday afternoon. An initial court hearing in the case was set for Wednesday morning.

Keith played his first season with the Colts in 2007, starting one game. He gained 533 yards rushing for the season, and scored a total of four touchdowns.

There was no immediate response from the Colts Sunday night.

Maybe its me but I can't say I'm too impressed by a 27 year old hanging out with a 19 year old.

I'd be real surprised if the Colts haven't upgraded over a mediocre Keith by the end of this weekend.

Going even farther, I wouldn't be surprised to see Keith released. He's eminently replaceable, and character is a big deal with Dungy.

He's the perfect guy to make an example of (the Steelers do this all the time). He was probably going to be replaced anyway and if cut because of this, the other players may think twice before they do something stupid. If Lamont Jordan gets cut, i think he would be a nice backup here. He performs when he gets a chance and he can catch which is important to the Indy Offense.

Don't forget some guy named Justise Hairston is also on the practice squad..... :football:

Realistically though, a rookie steps in right away to take Keith's spot, if not more.

Hmm...L. Jordan in Indy would put a serious kink in Addai's value I think......this is actually not good news for Addai owners if they do indeed get a capable replacement.

They have a lot of options for a rookie RB to fit their system.

Early round options - Jamaal Charles, Ray Rice, Matt Forte

Later rounds - Rafael Little, Xavier Omon, Marcus Thomas.

The first name that came to my mind, though, was Andre Callender.

I hang out with my little cousins all the time. Why are people so hung up on age?

or do what they usually do, get a backup that wasn't drafted.

Just gives the Colts an excuse to dump him. Which needs to be done - his hands of stone was costly in the playoffs.

Pro athletes dancing cocked in parking lots and giving cops a hard time at 3:00am with 19 year olds usually isn't a sign of maturity. There's nothing wrong with hanging out with people younger than you...as long as you're somewhat acting your age and not doing stuff that may jeopardize your livelihood and have the night end in the backseat of a cruiser with your hands cuffed behind your back.

It is only an example to second tier players. The Cowboys have already sent a message to the league saying "If you are talented enough we don't care what your character issues are"

I can't throw any stones. I was thrown in the drunk tank one night for same type of behavior. Of course, I didn't get charged for resisting arrest etc.

When Keith played with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the CFL his character was always in question. I remember hearing stories of him getting into fights at night clubs and acting like a punk. There was also a rumor that he was sleeping with another player's gf/wife which caused seperation in the locker room.

It is to bad that he has appeared to have thrown this opportunity away of playing with one of the classiest organizations in professional sports.

He has/had the ability of being Addai's back up again this season as he filled in admirably when given the opportunity last season. Sure he dropped some balls, but an offseason of focusing on this problem and it would be corrected.

He is replaceable and I am sure he will be cut. Welcome back to the CFL Mr. Keith.

He had numerous issues in canada involving the police

the radio guy for his team told me he even was up on charges for sexual assault but it was brushed under the rug by the team and community because he was a star player there

he played on the same team that protected a man who had HIV and enjoyed 'spreading the love' to as many female victims as possible - he is now in prison because of it.

No one is going to be replacing Addai, or cutting significantly into his carries. Ugh... I can't wait until the draft is over.Last year people were clamoring about how Keith was going to take 50% of the carries or so after the one game Addai missed. Now they are saying Addai's low YPC during the second half of the season is going to get him replaced, but even then Keith wasn't coming in a taking away a lot of touches. The Colts are very very happy with Addai.Keith may get replaced in the draft, but nothing more than a backup.Even if L. Jordan came in, he wouldn't see many carries. At least that's my opinion on the matter :gang1:

Obviously, it matters how hot she was.
There's something really wrong with that dialogue.

Keith is the kind of backup RB who makes a perfect handcuff candidate. :lmao:
Hey, MT did a funny! Not bad, MT. Not bad at all. :lmao:And for those who didn't read the details, the 19 year old was a dude, dude. I read a different source for the above story this morning which said so.
