Haven't heard much on how Jerry Hughes is progressing. He was arrested in the offseason, which is never good in this organization. Is Anderson's signing protection for the team if Mathis leaves (and Hughes doesn't pan out), which I assume will happen after the season? I don't like this for Hughes' dynasty outlook...thoughts?

Anderson has never done anything as a DE. I wouldn't be surprised to see him play inside. Regardless, I don't think it affects Hughes at all long-term. Hughes' play will affect Hughes long-term.

They will if he deserves to play. They aren't going to play Hughes just to play him, first rounder or not. I suspect he will play a lot in the preseason.

I think Anderson was signed to allow the Colts to rest Freeney and Mathis as they did in 2008 and 2009. They didn't have a depth DE capable of holding his own against the run on base downs last year. Anderson has been a complete flop as a pass rusher, but he's been okay (and actually pretty good last year) against the run. Watch for him to be the 2011 version of Raheem Brock.

Any news from camp or preseason games? I hear he looks terrible, and Colts have now added Tyler Brayton in addition to Jamaal Anderson. As a Mathis owner, is Hughes even worth a stash for a possible starting role in 2012?
