Comparing the last 2 years at the top: QB (1 Viewer)

Wanted to look at the top consensus picks at the skills positions(mostly 1st two round guys, used the Bloom 100 for the 07 group).

First the QBs...based upon their/your draft grades...how do you rank them if it was one draft will these players. Try not to heavily weigh last years rookie performances too much. How did these guys grade out of college to you? Hopefully we can get some good discussion here

Tough to say with the others. I might go Quinn-Young-Russell-Leinart-Cutler.

I agree...He shouldn't be in the number 1 position but he is considered a top 3-4 qb for this year..Hopefully we can rank them from 1-10 at each position. Should be useful in startup dynasties and getting a base for trade talks

You rate Quinn ahead of Young and Leinart? Russell is ahead of Quinn in most mocks but that could be because they feel he is a good fit for Oakland with the big arm.

You rate Quinn ahead of Young and Leinart? Russell is ahead of Quinn in most mocks but that could be because they feel he is a good fit for Oakland with the big arm.

I wasn't listing them in order of how I think they will turn out, but on what players I think will grade out highest in the eyes of NFL scouts. Although, even that's tough to do because when you're comparing, for example, Young and Leinart - they have very different skill sets, so it really depends on the team that's drafting, and what they covet at the position.

I liked Leinart a lot last year and I really like Russell this year. I had my questions about both Young and Cutler, but now I'm convinced. I have the same feelings about Quinn this year. I am just not sold on him. I would rank them (coming out of college) like this:

Cutler

Young

Quinn

Smith

VY was not only a phyiscal freak, but a winner and a leader which very much came through during the draft process. The next group could be jumbled around, but Troy Smith wont grade out in the measureables.
