Computer guys - advice on new gaming computer problems (1 Viewer)

Son just got a new computer that he spec'd with components from, and had built by, Microcenter in Cambridge. About $2k.
1st night it would randomly shut down and couldn't download Diablo. Getting "corrupt files" error.
Brought it back to Microcenter Saturday (almost a 1 hour drive each way) and picked it up Sunday. Was told they reinstalled Windows and it passed diagnostics.
Still experiencing the same problems.
Son wants to just get his $$ back.
Any other suggestions?

What is the exact error message and when does it occur?

Nvidia makes a diagnostic tool to check if the video card is doa, it happens.

If it's a Diablo 4 issue it seems some are saying it's a possible compatibility issue with Samsung m.2 drives. If he has those a workaround could be to use a different storage device. Of course the real fix should come from the game dev if that's the case.

Edit: 1) maybe not just Samsung but faster/newer nvme drives 2) they did release a patch about a month ago which should resolve that

Getting returned for a refund tonight.
Same issues after they re-imaged the ssd, without try to reinstall diablo. More crashes, weird start ups. Called them up and they know that it's coming back.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Sucks for the kid, but the right call. If there’s something wonky in there You could throw parts at it all day and not find it. Motherboard, RAM, processor, GPU. Not worth chasing when it’s brand new and in the return window.

Gonna try again with the same build, or try an off-the-shelf preconfigured system?
