Computer Guys - replace cracked laptop screen (1 Viewer)

I have a cracked laptop screen and want to try replacing it before buying a new computer.  I watched a couple videos on youtube and decided to give it a shot - I have the cover off the screen but the screen itself is attached to the laptop lid with some pretty strong adhesive or tape or whatever.  I haven't seen this in any of the youtube videos I could find so I'm hoping someone here can help me.  How do I deal with this adhesive/tape/whatever so I can take the screen out?

It's a Lenovo Model    81WE if that matters.

Did you watch this video?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtSYjH8UoFo

Noticed something interesting at about the 2:00 mark.  I've replaced quite a few laptop screens, but have never seen that before.  Might help.

Hey WDIK2,  thanks so much for finding this video!  I was able to remove the damaged screen based on the video and the new replacement screen went in pretty easily after that.  First time trying to replace a screen and I wouldn't have been able to do it without this video   :hifive:

Thank you!

:hifive:    Glad it worked for you.  I love Youtube for fixing stuff.
