So this was a ####### amazing experience from start to finish. The venue couldn't be in a nicer setting and you've got servers walking around with trays of drinks. I had a backpack with a big drink sleeve, so one waiter brought me a bottle of wine to keep in there for the show. The crowd was big but not insane, I'd guess maybe 8-10k? Rumors already that they're coming back next year and we're absolutely going back if they do.I know how much #### Dave Matthews fans get around here, but my wife loves him. Me less so, but I've always enjoyed his shows. Anyway we've got 3 Dave & Tim Reynolds acoustic shows on the beach here later this week. Barcelo resort in Riviera Maya.
We were lucky last summer to get one of the few Stapleton/Isbell shed shows here on the East Coast last year.
I did whiff on catching Stapleton OPEN for Isbell at the Ryman back in 2014, but I was buying tix resale as I missed the onsale.
Also missed Sturgill Simpson opening for Isbell at the same venue in 2015. No offense to "Hooray for the Riff Raff" and their fans, but I picked the wrong opener on the four night run for when I did hit the box office on sale.
Judge Smails said:Huge regret not seeing him at Santa Barbara Bowl last year. Praying that he's opening for Petty on his west coast swing. I joined the fan club just to get tickets to the show, but no dates/cities yet. Whiskey and You is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard.
What no love for murder ballads? I like them when I listen when I decide to but live it's a bit much to take for nearly a whole set.We were lucky last summer to get one of the few Stapleton/Isbell shed shows here on the East Coast last year.

Ok got my DM tickets for October! Should be a nice year of music.Got Roger Waters tickets for June, Staples Center, LA
Metallica Tickets for August, Petco Park, SD
hoping to get Depeche Mode Tickets for October at Hollywood Bowl, LA.
I had friends at Dave & Tim, and they raved. Also friends at Phish and Panic, and to a person everyone swore they were going back next year. I'd love to go to any of those 3, but my kids are currently too young. The entire getaway seems awesome. So this was a ####### amazing experience from start to finish. Phish has done it the past two years and I think last month they had a big country bonanza with Luke Bryan and some other artists. Given the positive word of mouth, expect more artists to do it in the future. I'd highly recommend it if someone you like plays there. It's unbelievable.
Just booked Hall and Oates and Tears fo Fears July 28th in LAdo this
Been a bigHonestly, I think Stapleton may have the best voice of any singer performing today, regardless of genre. Maybe he and Adele are 1a and 1b. I was blown away at what he was doing vocally.
Steel drivers are awesome. Weird that the new lead singer sounds like Chris.Been a big
fan of Chris since his days in The Steeldrivers, if you guys like him I would also suggest Cody Jinks

Jealous.Bought tickets for Depeche Mode this summer. Going to see them twice - once in Detroit and once in Austin. Tickets are cheap - like $25-30 for lawn.
I have seen him a few times. They were always a fun night but nothing special. Elton John on the other hand brought it every single time I saw him. When they played together, Elton dominated imo.Agree that a stadium show would be a non-starter (unless there was a firesale on the resell market).
And for reference, my "not a must see" comment would be applicable if someone had already seen him and was considering seeing him another time. Still worthwhile to catch him for the 1st time if you are a fan, but agree that I would not want that to be a stadium/festival show.
I have a few Dead and Co. Vids on my google drive if you want any. I have been looking for a JRad one for a while. I wish I knew.I bought the 3 day Joe Russo's Almost Dead webcast for this wkend. Last night was night one - these guys are as good as it gets on the jam band scene, and of course they are playing quite possibly the greatest catalog in rock history. Highly, highly recommended if they are in your area, or if you're interested in couch tour: http://nugs.tv/

What does she say makes DM inappropriate?Jealous.
Looks like nose bleeds are 150 at the garden in NYC.
I still plan on going.
Seen them 3 times and always enjoy them.
I wanna take my 11 year old daughter. My wife thinks it's completely inappropriate. She's the nutty one, right?
Skipping the Kansas show and Rik Emmitt shows.May 7th - Opeth/Gojira/Devon Townsend, Sayerville, NJ
May 27th - Kansas, Sands Casino, Bethlehem, PA
June 4th - Iron Maiden, Philly
June 9th - Rik Emmitt (questionable)
Roger Waters is on the radar for August. Can't see myself missing it.
I loved Poison back in the day. How was the show?Reliving the misspent days of youth tonight for the kickoff of the Tesla , Poison, Def Leppard tour.
I saw all these bands multiple times over the years. Tesla is always good but way under appreciated. They're not flashy and don't have a lot of personality. Their set was solid but not that noteworthy. Not many people knew their songs, so they mostly got ignoredI loved Poison back in the day. How was the show?
Anyone heading out to the fairgrounds today?Jazz Fest has an incredibly strong lineup headliner wise.

If it stops raining. Yes.Anyone heading out to the fairgrounds today?
Looks like it is moving fast. Not sure when gates are opening. If it stops raining. Yes.
Can't wait to hear all about itCounting Crows and Matchbox Twenty
How was this?Justin Townes Earle tomorrow night in Tucson. Playing in a venue I have never been in. From online research its a pretty small place which is cool with me.
Justin Townes Earle was good but I wish he played longer. There were also a lot of songs I wanted to hear that he did not play. We got 3-4 songs off his new album which comes out this month. He has the Sadies (?) open for him and as his back up band. They are decent as well. How was this?
I love Sturgill Simpson and his show I saw was awesome. I know his guitarist left and struck out on his own. It will be interesting to see how the band is now. That guitarist was really good and there was lots of chemistry. I was sad when I heard he left.Got tix for Slightly Stoopid in June and Sturgill Simpson in September.
Will probably pick some up for Punch Brothers (with I'm With Her), Shovels and Rope (they are actually opening for St. Paul And The Broken Bones), Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, and Tedeschi Trucks Band (The Wood Brothers opening).
Who played this year?I just got back from Merlefest today. It was great.
