Concussion Protocol Question (1 Viewer)

The question has to do with the concussion protocol and a couple of different examples.  Both Coleman and Kamara got concussions in last weeks game.  Kamara and his coach have proclaimed that he will play.  But I have seen no official report from a doctor clearing him.  On the other hand Coleman has yet to practice.  Is it possible that Coleman doesn't even travel with the team this week? Its a short flight but I read somewhere about flying while in the concussion protocol could cause setbacks.  I'm just looking for more information about the protocol. Is it possible that Atlanta could wait until 2 hours before game time on Monday to announce their inactives and include Coleman only then? Or will we know sooner than that if he is playing or not.

Yes,it possible that you don't here until the inactives come out.

But that kind of news usually leaks out before then

On Kamara the team is not obligated to put out an official report, only to designate practice participation. NFLN already said yesterday he was cleared.

On Coleman I'd refer to something Doc Chao said last Friday regarding Ertz, a call he was correct on. He had said it was dubious that Ertz would get cleared because the last hurdle was ability to complete a full practice with no setbacks and that in itself was difficult since Saturday is just a walk through  and then the next hurdle was to locate an independent league approved neuro on a Saturday in NFL. Now this is the first time I've read that the final hurdle was completing full practice but Chao not wrong on much.

Since Coleman has to get cleared by independent league approved neuro I think it's safe to assume you'll know by tomorrow  at the latest because I don't think the plan would be for him to fly into Tampa and locate a neuro.
